Pet care experience
I am an experienced in-home dog sitter, specializing exclusively in small dogs, no larger than 15lb. Dog First Aid and CPR certified by the US Red Cross and WAGs. Privately insured with pet sitters insurance from ProFur. Dog sitting is my business. it is not a "side-gig" or needing to "fit in" to my schedule. My life and schedule revolves around caring for your pet. Your dog will have company all day and the house is never left unattended. We live in a house with a fully enclosed backyard/patio and the river and parks in front - we go walking to the park several times a day! We also have a dog door that leads out onto the backyard/patio and your pup would have full access to come and go as they please. In summer the doors are open to the garden all day. When in the house, they can hang out wherever they want and are allowed on the furniture. I have two teenage children and we all love to snuggle with dogs... My focus is on making your dog comfortable! You can expect photo updates (and sometimes videos!) of your dog during their stay so you can have peace of mind while you are away. When a dog comes to stay, I always wish their owners could see how much love and attention they receive. They're on the bed when I sleep, the couch while watching tv, my lap while I work...They really become part of our family when they stay here! Prior to the stay, we would have a Meet & Greet so you can meet me and see where your dog would be staying and I can meet and learn about them.

My dog is a 16/17 year old shih tzu that is very high maintenance with heart disease. I wanted her to be left in a home where there was someone there 24/7 so she would feel as comfortable as possible. Little would I know she would have anxiety episodes middle of the night (Not anything Helen did, she was great!). Helen was very communicative and tried her very best to comfort her with sleepless nights. I appreciate all her hard work and keeping my old lady as comfortable as she could.
This was my first time using Rover and I was quite nervous. Helen was great from the meet and greet to taking care of Poppy. She provided updates and photos of how Poppy was doing throughout her stay. I would definitely bring Poppy back when I'm out of time. Thank you, Helen!
Great sitter! I am always so worried when I leave Nixie since she is very much a snuggler and wants closeness with a person. I cannot kennel her since she does not handle well. Helen was so good with her and treated her like her own. She let her sleep with her and Nixie loves that. After my trip I picked up a very happy dog. I got pictures from Helen often and felt comfortable leaving her and did not worry. I will certainly use Helen again if back in Canada. I cannot say enough good about this sitter. I recommend her highly.
I'm so grateful to Helen for ensuring a smooth stay for my dog's first stay, as well as my first time using Rover. As a senior dog with a quirky personality, Marlee's every need was attended to, and I received updates throughout the day with pictures and videos of Marlee and her adventures. I couldn't have asked for a better first experience, and Helen was very compassionate to answer all my questions during our first meet and greet, and put all my fears to ease, given I hadn't left my dog for boarding in over 3 years. Overall, I would definitely recommend Helen to any small dog owners, due the amount of time, patience, and attention to detail that she puts towards all the animals in her care; her utmost compassion towards dogs really shines through.

Here is a list of some of the things your pup & I can do: High Energy Pups: Head over to the neighbourhood park. Take a splash on a hot summer at the mini-beach by the river. Go for a good long walk. Play fun, stimulating games! ---------------------------------------- Medium Energy Pups: Play games. Learn/practice tricks. Go out for a nice walk. Go for car rides. ---------------------------------------- Low Energy Pups: Netflix and cuddle! Sit outside and enjoy the view. Cuddles, cuddles and more cuddles!

Drop-off and pick-up times are between 8:00am and 9:00pm Before or after these hours would require a drop-off the evening before or pick-up the morning after. An additional night would be added to the booking.
