I had to say goodbye to my 16.5 year old pup in 2020 and have been dog sitting for others ever since. Ive worked with both seniors and pups and dogs of all sizes. I like to go hiking and am happy to bring your four legged pooch to hit the trails with me but am just as happy to be a couch potato with your pup as well. My apartment has a large patio for dogs to hang out on. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out!

I was very nervous about leaving my reactive dog with a stranger for the first time, but Helen took the time to meet us and get to know Sansa and her quirks to assess if it was a good fit. Everything after that went absolutely perfect. Helen provided many updates and cute pics during the stay and made me realize I had nothing to worry about. Sansa loved Helen and I could tell from her body language she was relaxed and having a good time. Helen worked her magic with her quicker than I've ever seen, from an anxious dog parent to another, I definitely recommend her to take care of your pup. I know I'll be booking with her again!
We left our pooch in good hands, Helen was great and very easy going. No complaints!
Helen took great care of our energetic Finn! She took him on long walks and tired him out! Loved the photos too.

I will only take one dog at a time or up to two dogs if they are from the same house hold. There is a fenced dog park in my neighbourhood for dogs to get a good run in but can keep the dog on leash at all times if you're not comfortable.

Please let me know if your dog has separation anxiety, is reactive to people/dogs/other animals, and has any food allergies. Please also share your dog's normal routine is and I will try my best to match it while they are with me (e.g. times they go for walk, eat, etc.) so that their transition with me goes as smoothly as possible. Requesting that all large dogs come with a harness so that I am able to control them in case they pull or react to anything.
A typical day
I love hiking so your dog will get lots of outdoor time while they're with me. Please let me know if they have good recall so I know whether they are able to be off leash. If they're a senior dog and like more of a relaxed schedule, I have a patio that the dogs seem to love to sun tan on.

I work from home 5 days a week and have the flexibility to take the dog out for a potty break every 3 or 4 hours. On a typical work day, dogs get between a 45min to 1.5 hr walk in the morning, a 30 min walk at lunch and a 45min to 1.5 hr walk after work with a bathroom break before bed. This schedule is adjusted for seniors and dogs with mobility issues. That said, I have commitments in the evening usually around 3-4 times a week for sports or other social events so the dogs will generally be left alone for some limited amount of time. Please let me know if your dog experiences separation anxiety so I know in advance whether this will have to be managed closely.
