Loving and energetic dog-sitter!

Pet care experience

I was born into a family of dog lovers. My first experience with dog training and care began at the age of 5 with my Rottweiler-Chow mix, "BB." Through the years, my family has had multiple different dogs who have lived long and happy lives which gave me the skills and experience to care for dogs with many different care needs and ages. This has imparted a deep love for and understanding of animals that led me to volunteer entire summers of my highschool years at the Forsyth County Animal Shelter. In my late teens and early twenties, I was hired by friends of family as their long term animal caregiver for multiple months of care and housesitting at a time. This experience was very positive for me and led me to continue pursuing dog sitting, drop in care, and house sitting here on Rover. In 2018, I stopped house-sitting as I welcomed my own very young puppy, Mack, as the first dog of my own. While I no longer provide house-sitting services as my fur family has grown to two dogs and two cats, I still love dropping in to meet new fur friends and provide them with much-needed love and exercise. I'd love to be that person for your pets!

Hayden has had an amazing affinity for and rapport with animals since she was a small child. She has worked with local animal shelters on multiple occasions with glowing reviews. She is tenderhearted, responsible, and genuinely motivated by the well-being of animals and dogs in particular. She gets my highest recommendation -- and she's my daughter!

Hayden is responsive and responsible. She understands our pets and manages them and their care needs lovingly and efficiently. We've had special needs pets in the past, and there is no one I'd trust more with them than Hayden. She is proficient and mature—entirely trustworthy. She has great judgment.

Safety, trust & environment

For dogs with a lot of energy or any behavioral problems, the best first step is to get them exercise in their brains and bodies. Whether than means walking, puzzle games, etc. Taking training slowly so that the dog does not get frustrated and overwhelmed. My Great Pyrenees, Mack, does not like having his feet touched and will become extremely dangerous if someone tries to clip his toenails. We are working on muzzle training now which keeps me safe and prevents his toenails from becoming dangerously long and hurting him. Sometimes we have to compromise with our pets so that we both get what we need out of a situation.

Information Hayden S. would like to know about your pet

I firmly believe that it is the person who makes the dog and I have no breed preferences. I would like to know the dogs name, sex, general size, energy level and any quirks or special needs they have so I can prepare accordingly.

A typical day

I tend to stay in the neighborhood of where the dog's home is but I would be open to walking the dog in other places such as mountain trails, parks, etc. depending on the dog-parent's level of comfort.
