I got started dog sitting with a neighbor who was a school teacher and needed help with a daytime sitter,He had adopted a retired greyhound racing dog, I learned, retired greyhounds have special needs , which eventually got me to taking the dog for veterinary visits, giving prescribed meds, and eventually 24 hour hospice. I learned a lot during those 3 years, I learned a lot about dogs in general, and greyhounds. After that i continued setting greyhounds and still do. Another experience i had was a little dog who was in a cage, outdoors, kept there 24/7 heat, cold, rain, dirty cage, no clean water, it was horrendous so i rescued him, got him back to good health and he has been with me ever since that day
