Life is Better With a Dog

Pet care experience

I wasn't raised around animals but I always had a love for dogs. In efforts to explore the love I was feeling, I decided to jump head first into the dog world by becoming a dog walker for Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS). There was no better feeling than to come into the shelter and provide a helping hand to dogs who were so desperately in need of it. My very first experience with dog sitting was when I took care of a "big baby" of a Blue Nose Pit bull named Mello. A weeks stay went on to two weeks but I didn't mind. We were bonding. In the past, I fostered a dog (Ella) and adopted a dog (Remi) from BARCS as well. Both of those beauties were Pit bull mixes so I have an affinity for bigger breeds but I am a dog lover and enjoy taking care of them.

Gretchen took great care of my dogs while I was away for the week. She was super easy to work with, got along great with the dogs, and sent me pictures/updates throughout the week. Highly recommend her!

OMG I can't find words that can sum up how pleased I was with Gretchen. She is the best. Foxy was a little worried and sad when we left her because it was her first time being away from us but Ms. Gretchen knew just how to handle her. I got plenty of pictures with Foxy playing and feeling right at home with her. I will definitely use her again for my sitter. Omg the best!!!! Thank you Rover services

America has stayed with Gretchen several times and she's been the best. Her place has tons of space for America to run around and Gretchen gives her plenty of attention. America seems so happy there that I feel like I'm taking her on vacation when I drop her off. Recently I had a last minute trip that I urgently needed a sitter and Gretchen was able to save the day. I highly recommend her as a sitter any time you need one.

Gretchen was great with our dogs. She cared for our pit bull and American bulldog for a long weekend. We came home to happy and well cared-for dogs! I would absolutely recommend Gretchen!

I would like to know if your dog is house trained (preferred), crate trained, has any allergies, or any aggression issues. I would like to know what type of games does your dog enjoy playing. Also, I would like to know any thing that you think is important to know about your dog i.e skills you are working on, fears, quirks.

A typical day

My neighborhood is very dog friendly and several of my neighbors walk their dogs. There are alot of options for side walk adventures and a few large open areas of grass for back scratches of course. If your dog stays with me they will get plenty of love and attention! I work typically from 9-5 during the week but weekends will be free.
