Set on making your dog's day better

Pet care experience

Full-time Dog caretaker! Looking to add daily walks or drop-in visits (Mon-Sat) anytime between: 7am-9am 11am-12pm 3:30pm-5pm *Happy to accept one-time requests as well!* About me: I took care of my dog, Macie (in profile picture), since I was 11 years old. We were both "pups" when we rescued her and truly grew up together. Macie was a medium sized boxer-beagle mix that was a ball of energy. Made for fun times and sometimes a steep learning curve. She was a quick learner though and it made me a better teacher. I have also been a dog-sitter for neighborhood dogs, including two larger juvenile brothers. And finally, I developed a special-bond with my sister's dog, Rory. Rory unfortunately had a very rough start to life, which left her completely terrified of the world around her. She needed a gentle touch (figuratively, because she wouldn't literally let anyone touch her). Slowly but surely she wouldn't run away when you came nearby and she started to open up to the idea of giving this world a second chance. She is now a happy teenager! All of that is to say, I understand that all dogs with their own care needs and personalities and I love the process of figuring out how to make each individual's day better.

Graeme took such good care of Ollie and left my house in great condition. He was awesome about sending photos/videos and reaching out if he had a question. Would recommend 100%.

Graeme is amazing! He spent the week entertaining my bratty hounds and needy cats. They loved him and didn’t miss us one bit. We will hire him anytime!

Graeme was awesome! He followed directions, asked questions if he needed any help, sent pictures of my dogs, which was nice since I missed him. Bear loves when he comes to visit!

Safety, trust & environment

I am happy to visit your home and walk around the surrounding areas. If given permission, we can expand that range to car-rides and local trails as well. I am extremely attentive and my top priority is keeping your dog safe. With that being the case, the only thing I will feed your dog is food you provide or treats you approve. (Unfortunately I can't bring dogs to my home or I would risk losing a security deposit)

Information Graeme C. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know ahead of time how your dog interacts with strangers as well as other dogs. This will help me understand what approach to take if I am greeting them for the first time. If we are going for a walk, it will also give me a sense of the right location to bring them to stimulate them or avoid areas where other dogs may be walking. Also let me know about treats! If you have treats for them, how many treats should be the limit, etc. As mentioned in my safety bio, I won't give dogs any unapproved food items by the owners.

A typical day

I think it truly depends on the dog! There is no one-size-fits-all approach. A young energetic pup has different needs. We could throw a ball around or play in the snow if the conditions are appropriate. However a less mobile older dog, still needs stimulation. So I would consider a leisurely walk in a place with lots of interesting vegetation and trees or lounging at the park with good people/dog watching opportunities. The more opportunities I have to interact with the dog, the better idea I will have on what makes them tick. It could be that one specific toy they have, belly-rubs, or searching for all of the good smells.
