The best care for your best friend!

Pet care experience

I'm Glynnis, and I live with my dog, Rufus, in Chester/Swarthmore. I know how frustrating it can be trying to find a caretaker for your dog- we've all been there before! Your dog will be in good hands as he/she enjoys a vacation at my house- my own dog is incredibly social, and the neighborhood is extremely walkable with parks nearby- I frequently visit state parks as well for those really nice long walks. In addition to ensuring your dog is safe, I care for dogs who have medical issues, both chronic and acute, I have 6+ years medical experience as an LPN, and am able to easily administer meds- oral, subcutaneous or IM injections and insulin. I also offer complimentary bathing for dogs staying 3+ days! I've raised over a dozen dogs, from birth to beyond, and love providing safe, fun, and reliable care for your loved animals. I have worked in health care for a decade, and am skilled in providing interim medical care for your dog/cat if needed- I have cared for dogs with diabetes, Addisons, cancer, seizure disorders, and aggression issues. I'm always available for check ins, skype calls, and providing regular updates for long trips as needed. From the time I could barely crawl until today, I have been surrounded by animals. Dogs of all shapes and sizes, cats, snakes, lizards, and birds are all friends to me. I have guided my bearded collie through agility training, my terrier mixes through neighborhood walks, my dog-like cats on leashes, and now my cockapoo pup as a therapy dog. The animals who have shared their lives with me have taught me many lessons, and love helping others find peace of mind with their own friends. I live less than 2 minutes walk from a large park, and within a short drive of a multitude of dog-friendly places. I would love to welcome your dog in my home.

Bailey had a great time with Glynnis! He enjoyed playing with Rufus and the cats. Bailey went on lots of long walks and Glynnis sent us a pic to let us see how our dog was doing! We enjoyed our vacation, and bailey made new friends!

Our dog had a great time staying with Glynnis. He loved Glynnis's dog and seemed very happy when he got home. Glynnis provided us with updates and pictures of our dog. We will definitely be using her again to watch our dog while we are away!

Rusty stayed with Glynnis for three nights. She was very flexible with our drop off and pick up times and sent us several pictures throughout the weekend of our puppy having fun on his vacation! Rusty is hit or miss with other dogs/animals and Glynnis assured us that she was used to watching dogs with varying temperaments. This allowed us to relax on our vacation without worrying about Rusty. Overall great experience!

I have known Glynnis for many years now, and have been constantly surprised at her ability to communicate with dogs as if she were one of them. She's taught my pups a neat trick or two, and is calm and patient in explaining why dogs do the things they do, which has saved me a lot of frustration in dealing with my three labs. Every one of her dogs (and cats) I have met have been the most relaxed and social animals I've come across- her two cats have even taken well to a new dog in the house! My dogs are always well fed, happy, and exercised when she's around, and her communication is consistent, clear, and always welcome. She's a good neighbor to have, with or without the dogs!

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks I live in Media, which is heaven for dog-friendly places, so my usual loop goes into town, then finishes for a long run through Glen Providence park. Your dog's sleeping arrangement If your dog is crate trained, and you prefer a crate, we can work it out! Otherwise, during the day, I'll watch where your dog feels most comfortable, and let your dog choose. Time I'll spend with your dog I prefer at the very least 45 minutes with your dog, preferably more if they have separation anxiety, health problems, or have high energy. Most dogs require about an hour of exercise each day, so ideally, your dog would accompany mine on my daily park time. Time I'll spend with your dog I like to spend at the very least 30-45 minutes with dogs, more if they are prone to separation anxiety or have current health issues. I love long walks in the park! Extra house-sitting services Anything you need (within reason of course!) I'm happy to help. I'm also a gardener!
