Since I was very little I've had a genuine connection with animals. Doing everything I possibly can to protect pets or wildlife from abuse or neglect is in my nature. Although I don't have much experience as a professional pet sitter, I've had pets of all kinds my entire life— dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, monkeys, squirrels, horses, sheep, deer and even raccoons! I've also taken care of my son's pot bellied pig for extended periods of time and he was definitely a handful! But I've always gone out of my way to care for all these animals like family. The last 2 dogs that I had lived to be over 15 years old and they were extremely difficult to take care of the last year and a half of their lives, but I thought it was my duty and responsibility to be loving to them and give them the best care possible until the very end. In terms of dog or cat sitting responsibilities, I believe it is not only important to fill their plates with food and water and take them out for a walk when necessary, but to spend time interacting with them or letting them socialize with other animals if possible; give them proper exercise and activities that stimulate their brain; make sure their plates are clean and they always have fresh water; administer any required medications on time; clean their bedding often and spend time training them or just giving them love and attention. I would treat any animals that I care for through Rover.com with the same love and dedication I've treated my own. I am currently not working so I have plenty of time to take care of your pups! I do have pets of my own (a cat and a bird) so in terms of boarding I would rather invite your dog to my house. I am also available to go to your house for dog walking and my schedule is very flexible at the moment. I have a large back yard where your dog could run and play as well as a fenced in area where he or she could spend some free time outdoors. My house is on a lake so if your dog likes the water and it's Ok with you, he could go swimming as well! I have an indoor cat (Fleury) and a tiny parrotlet (Sofía) so if your dog is friendly I think Flerury would be Ok with him. I generally take Sofía out of her cage quite a bit so I would just make sure your dog is in a separate area when I do, because she is not afraid of anything and would most likely try to land on your dog's head! :)
