Pet care experience
Hello! I am an American who has lived in the Netherlands for about a year. I did dogsitting on Rover for three years in America and enjoyed it a lot, and thought I would give it a try here in the Netherlands. I live in a ground-floor apartment in Wolvega with a garden and many grassy areas nearby for walks. I do work three shifts a week at FrieslandCampina in Wolvega so there will be 8-hour blocks where I am not home, but my partner will be home at those times so your dog will never be alone. I have very extensive experience with taking care of dogs. I ran a Greyhound rescue group from 1996 to 2009 and constantly fostered during that time (as well as had three dogs of my own). Since then I have fostered for Old Dog Haven, Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue and a few other rescue groups. I have always been a "dog person". I also volunteered at PAWS Wildlife for 5 years so I am proficient at wrangling all manner of uncooperative critters. There's nothing a dog can do to upset me. For drop-ins, I have in the past provided care for dogs, cats, birds, rodents, fish and lizards, and I will also will take in packages and water indoor/outdoor plants if you wish. Please, no larger-breed puppies at my home. They may meet the weight limit but without a fenced yard I'm just not set up for their energy-expenditure needs. By "larger breed" I mean any dog whose adult weight will exceed about 13 kg. I look forward to meeting you and your little ones!

Elizabeth has stayed with our dog Kai at our house several times now. She is always dependable, she sends regular updates, follows my long instructions :), and leaves our house how she found it. And Kai really likes her too so that’s very important! We will use Elizabeth again for housesitting.
Elizabeth takes very good care of my elderly dog. She sends me pictures to let me know how he is doing. It's nice to be able to get away and not worry about your pet.
Thank you Elizabeth for taking such good care of Sophie. As soon as I met Elizabeth during our greet and meet at her home, I knew she was the right sitter for Sophie. Her home was very clean and welcoming. She made sure she understood Sophie’s needs and habits to make her stay most enjoyable. Elizabeth’s daily updates were informative/friendly, and I appreciated the photos. I give Elizabeth my highest recommendation. She is a true dog lover - and wonderful sitter!
This was our pup's third stay with Elizabeth. Our Marigold was happy, calm (after the initial excitement of seeing us again) and relaxed with Elizabeth. Elizabeth gave feedback of pictures and verbal messages during the stay and was very attentive to our dog's needs. She even purchased a hot pad for our pup to lay on when I spoke of how our 5 lb dog gets chilled easily. I am confident her other small dogs will benefit too during their stays, but her gesture did not go unrecognized. She has toys and pup beds to lounge on for small dogs out and available for her dogs staying with her (though she does not have a dog at this time). Elizabeth is competent with small dogs and is punctual and reliable. She has other clients that have used her many times and we hope to become one of them each time we need care for our Marigold.

I have a Chihuahua that is potty-pad trained and a cat that uses a littler box. They both like to go outside sometimes but spend most of their time inside.
