Pet care experience
I collected dog encyclopedias when I was young, and my dream of getting a puppy came true when I was in fifth grade, and we got a cairn terrier (Teddy). Now, I am a student at Yale Divinity School, and while I've left my dog encyclopedias at my parents' home, I still love to take care of dogs and cats when I'm not in classes. I'm happy to simply walk your dog, board or care for your pet in my apartment, or stay with them in your home. Past clients have described me as responsible, caring, and communicative. And I'm always ready to walk (literally) the extra mile for your pet. Bottom line: I will ensure that your dog or cat is safe, happy, and ready for a big nap after taking a walk or spending time with me. I treat all pups or cats as my own.
Reviews
Eliana and her fiancé made our time away so enjoyable! We recieved so many cute photos and details, we felt 100% confident we left our dog in good hands. I definitely recommend Eliana for your dog care needs.
Eliana took excellent care of my senior kitty! She sent lots of photos, gave my cat lots and lots of attention, and even gave my cat her daily pill without any issues. My cat was in great hands with Eliana and I would not hesitate to book with her again.
Eliana and Michael were kind and attentive to all of our furbabies, and left the house immaculate! My dog has been having tummy troubles, and Eliana handled them with conscientiousness. They were also gracious about scheduling changes we had. Would enthusiastically recommend, and have already rebooked!
This was my first time being away from my dog for such a long period, but it was made much easier thanks to Eliana & Michael's care. While my dog took a couple days to adjust to me being away, they took special care and attention to her eating and general behavior while keeping me updated. They sent plenty of precious pictures of my girl and I was able to see how comfortable she was around them. She got to enjoy lots of exciting walks and cuddles. Even though I missed my girl while away, I genuinely felt at ease knowing that she was boarded with them. I would absolutely book with them again and would feel completely assured knowing my dog would be safe with them.

My mother always taught me that respect is the most important thing. If I am ever watching your pet in your home, I will carry great respect for your home and the way that you'd like your pet to be cared for in your home. I also recognize that pets value their own routine, and I want to care for your pet in the ways that you've cared for them. I will never replace you as their best friend, but I will always strive to help your pet feel safe and respected in my hands.

Information Eliana S. would like to know about your pet
It’s important to know a pet's emotional triggers as best as you can before exploring the town together. Does your dog become anxious in the presence of other dogs? Does your dog prefer a quieter walk or a more lively, social one? Does your dog like to nap for most of the day, or can he or she play for hours? Does your cat prefer to be pet, or do they like their space? What sort of behavior is abnormal for your pet? I want your pet to have the best and safest experience it can have.
A typical day
As much as I can, I like to follow the dog’s leads. Walks, at their best, are about safe and structured discovery. They present a safe opportunity for your dog to exercise its curiosity. And if I get a sense that your dog wants to play fetch or nap under the sun for a moment, I will gladly oblige. Now, for cats, I know that it is their world, and I'm just living in it. I'm happy to play or pet, but I also respect that some cats like their space.

Availability
I usually have about 2 hours of classes per day on campus in New Haven. Aside from that, my schedule is very flexible. I also have my own car, and I'm able to come to your home to feed or check in on your pet as needed. Your pet is also welcome in my home, where I can provide more constant care. Potential clients should know that I live with my fiancé Michael, so I can only accept pets who are comfortable with males. Michael works from home, and he loves to be accompanied by and care for your pet during his workday. This means, your pet will never be alone and will always have a human friend, even when I’m in classes.
