🐕 A Waggin' Good Time 🐕

Pet care experience

NEW CLIENTS: We REQUIRE a meet a greet prior to confirming any service. *SUGGESTED Scheduling: Typically we recommend coordinating a meet and greet at least 2 weeks prior to your booking, as all meet and greet times are subject to availability. **Please make sure your pup is up to date on all required vaccinations (listed below). We also request that you limit as much as possible your dog’s visits to dog parks, dog beaches, and other large boarding facilities before your intended stay with us. If your dog is experiencing any of the symptoms (coughing, sneezing, eye or nose discharge, or abnormally tired) prior to their stay, please inform us ASAP and opt to keep your pup at home until they get better (in addition to taking them to the vet as soon as possible)! For the safety of my babies & my clients babies, I do request that your pup(s) are up to date on their vaccines (ONLY EXCEPTION: Written consent from your vet that states they recommend against a vaccine below for your pet due to age or health condition): -DPP with Adenovirus (Distemper, Parvovirus & Parainfluenza) 1 or 3-yr. vaccine required -Bordetella (Required at least 48 hours prior to check-in to ensure maximum efficiency and protection against Kennel Cough). -Rabies 1 or 3-yr. vaccine required -Canine Influenza (H3N8 and H3N2) -Leptospirosis Message me to coordinate a Meet & Greet with McGinnis! My husband and I have worked extensively with him and he has graduated to "Doggie Interviewer" Status. They love interviewing potential pup friends because it’s their “PAW-TY” and they love friends that love them too. <3 <3 <3 **NOTE: At this current time, we do NOT offer IN-HOME tours. The meet and greets will strictly be held in an outdoor space (our backyard) for boarding and daycare options. Thank you in advance for your understanding!** A huge thank you to all my doggie clients, future clients, and doggie community for your continued support. With Gratitude, Elaine, Izzy, McGinnis and Nova 🐶 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dogs are part of the family, and trusting your family member to people you don’t know can be "ruff". We know that finding a caretaker that you can trust to provide reliable, safe service can be a real struggle. That is why my husband and I work hard to build trust with our clients and their pets. This way, each time we provide care, both you and your dog/cat are able to fully relax. Our pups are our babies and our main joys in life, so we totally understand the feeling of not wanting to leave them for a day or an entire month! We never "force" play--rather we like to cultivate an environment that allows all doggie guests to build their confidence, socialize when they want to, relax if they so choose to, all the while building trust with us, the humans, Izzy (my husband) and Elaine (me)! Socialization time is ALWAYS supervised and we monitor how each dog is communicating with another. Whether it's your first time with us or your 1000th time, we will always communicate with you how your pup does in that particular stay or day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Special Note: In the interest of safety for all, please observe that we do require the following: 1. -Rabies 1 or 3-yr. vaccine required -Canine Influenza (H3N8 and H3N2) -Leptospirosis **IMPORTANT NOTE: Vaccinations must be administered at least 48 hours prior to arrival under the guidance of a licensed veterinarian. However, we do prefer vaccinations be administered 10-14 days before the first day of boarding / daycare to ensure maximum efficiency. 2. Request that their anti-flea drops/meds are up to date. 3. Your pup is wearing his/her current i.d. tags (even if they are micro-chipped). 4. In addition, we do gladly accept last minute Reservation Requests, HOWEVER, we really only do so with doggie folks with whom we have already established a solid working relationship. Trust and transparency are my key concerns, and I am looking forward to building wonderful relationships with clients all over the South Bay Area. Send a request to schedule a free, no-obligation Meet & Greet. I'm looking forward to hearing how I can help you and your furry family members. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT TO EXPECT DURING MEET AND GREETS: - Please schedule meet and greets a minimum of 2 weeks in advance before your booking in order to receive quality pet care services! - Meet and greets are a great opportunity to see if we are compatible for any service that I provide. REMEMBER, Meet & Greets do not automatically equal bookings...we have to be the right fit for each other. - Optional for a walk or drop in service: you may book and be present during a 30 minute walk or drop-in to see if I get along with your furry companion(s). - During this time, feel free to ask me any questions or give me any instructions for an upcoming stay/walk/drop-in. I will also ask you a list of questions in order to get to know your home and furry companions better. - If you do not have or want a lockbox, we can exchange keys at this time so I can enter your home for an upcoming booking. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT TO EXPECT DURING HOUSE SITTINGS (AT YOUR HOUSE): - During sittings, I will stay at your home full-time but may need to leave for anywhere between 5-6 hours at a time (unless otherwise specified). If your pup has a shorter window they can be left alone, let me know upfront and I can see if it works with my schedule for the timing you are looking for! - I work from home typically so I do require WIFI access. - Sleeping overnight is optional but most pet parents prefer this! I can sleep in a spare bedroom, your bedroom, or the couch, which ever one you are comfortable with. - walks are provided based on whatever you specify. - I am flexible with start and end time—as long as we discuss and agree upon it at the beginning prior to booking. - You will get a TON of text and photo updates per day—because that’s what I expect anyone watching my pups to do for me. - Housekeeping chores will be completed before leaving your home (i.e taking out the trash, cleaning the dishes, light sweeping/vacuuming, placing dirty sheets in the washer). - Bringing out and putting back garbage pails for trash pick up can also be done if requested. - For first time clients, please book at least one week beforehand in order to have enough time to schedule a meet and greet. For stays during popular holidays, consider booking as soon as possible in order to ensure your spot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT TO EXPECT DURING DOGGIE BOARDINGS (AT MY HOUSE): - During boardings, you will drop off your pup at our house for his/her stay. - Please bring all food, medication, leash, harness, ID tags, favorite security toy/item for the stay. - If your pup(s) are food motivated and has high energy, we ask that you include additional training treats for the stay as we like to challenge them mentally through food puzzles, snuff mats, lick pads, as well as obstacle courses in addition wearing them out physically through play and structured walks. - We are flexible with drop off and pick up times—as long as you communicate with us. If I can accommodate the times you want, I will...but otherwise, I will let you know what’s possible. - You will get a TON of text and photo updates per day— because that’s what I expect anyone watching my pups to do for me. - If your pup typically sleeps in their crate and you would prefer that while they are here, then also bring their crate! Otherwise all the pups sleep inside with us. We have a ton of beds for them to play musical beds with—but feel free to bring theirs to contribute to the fun sleepover as well! - Pups will have SUPERVISED playtime all day, with naps and rests in between as needed! This is pretty much a 24 hr dog park for them…so mandatory rest time is required! - All pups are fed separately to avoid any possible food aggression. No treats will be provided or mixed with the dogs. If your pups can have treats, you can bring their approved treats with them and we will share those with your own pup. Due to growing allergies with all dogs, we do not mix any treats with any of our pup guests during their stay. - Note that we do step out of the house from time to time for errands and picking up the hubby from work—but everyone will be safely separated for this short time. - For first time clients, please book at least one week beforehand in order to have enough time to schedule a meet and greet. For stays during popular holidays, consider booking as soon as possible in order to ensure your spot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT TO EXPECT DURING WALKS: - Walks are 30 minutes long, but can also include playtime if requested (e.g 20 minute walk+10 minute fetch). 60 minute walks are available via the app as well. - Meals, treats, water, and medication can be given before or after the walk if requested. - Paws and bottoms can be cleaned before reentering your home if requested. - A report with care summary and photo will be sent after each walk. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT TO EXPECT DURING DROP-INS: - Drop-in visits are 30 minutes long for one furry companion, but will last longer if there are additional animals in the home. I want to make sure each of your furry companions get the attention they need. - Meals, treats, water, medication, walks, and potty breaks can be given if requested. - Paws and bottoms can be wiped/cleaned before reentering your home if requested. - A report with care summary and photo will be sent after each drop-in. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT TO EXPECT DURING DAYCARE - We are flexible with drop off and pick up times as long as you communicate that with us. If I can accommodate the times you want, I will...but otherwise, I will let you know what’s possible. - Please bring leash and harness so we can take the pups for walks. Please bring food if they need to have their meal with us. - If your pups can have treats, you can bring their approved treats with them and we will share those with your own pup. Due to growing allergies with all dogs, we do not mix any treats with any of our pup guests during their stay. - Depending on the time of drop off or pick up, let us know if you need us to also feed your pup. If so, please bring their appropriate meals so we can feed them during the day! - You will get a TON of text and photo updates per day— because that’s what I expect anyone watching my pups to do for me. - At any given time, we have lots of different furry friends that come through our house so your pup will have someone to play with or be lazy with! - A report with care summary and photo will be sent after the drop-in. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pick-up and Drop-off Policies: All drop-offs and pick-ups are by appointment. I do occasionally leave the house for a couple of hours at a time, so please let me know when requesting a booking what pickup and drop-off times work for you and we will work on coordinating from there. I will always provide you with options of times that work for you to pick from. We also understand that with travel will come potential delays. All we ask for is for full transparency and communication if unexpected delays were to happen. If a pick up time becomes too late for that particular day, we will let you know and coordinate a next day pick up (additional charges may apply). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lastly, please click on 'Additional Services & Rates' on my profile to see all of my specialty rates (i.e puppy rate, holiday rate). Prices are subject to change, so please refer to my profile for the latest rates.

Information Elaine L. would like to know about your pet

I love meeting new dogs and understand that each of our pets has a unique personality, and I can't wait to learn the ins & outs of yours! THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR PUP •Are they fixed? If not, do they show signs of dominance towards other dogs? For Females, we can’t take them when they are in heat. •Are they friendly with people? •Any issues or habits when meeting new dogs? •Do they have separation anxiety? What is a typical action they do when they have separation anxiety? •Are they agressive towards dogs based on size? Male or female? •Are they escape artists? •Do they chase or play rough with smaller dogs? Larger dogs? •Are they territorial/guard over toys, treats, food, or water? •Anything that puts them off, scares them, or makes them uncomfortable? • Any health issues I should be informed of (e.g., arthritis, allergies, etc.)? • Are they on medication? If so, what’s their medication schedule? • Does your dog have a microchip? • Are they up-to-date on vaccinations & flea preventative treatment? • Who is the emergency contact in case you can’t be reached? • Are the care instructions listed on Rover.com up-to-date? • Who is your preferred Vet? DOG WALKING •Are they reactive to skateboards, bicycles, or dogs? •Any leash aggression? •Any behavior issues, habits, or quirks they have, that you believe I need to know before walking your dog(s)? •Certain places they are allowed or not allowed to use the restroom? (I know some owners prefer their dogs to not use the apartment front patios for restroom or front yards) •Are they reactive to loud sounds? Any pup who is dog friendly and passes the scrutiny of our “Doggie Interviewer-McGinnis” is welcomed here :)

A typical day

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our backyard is pretty much like a mini dog park for the pups in our care where they play catch, tug-o-war, or chase! We take tons of photos and/or videos for their humans, and on the occasion...we may possibly dress the pups up in fun costumes and send a few TikToks over if feeling creative! Lol! This will typically tired out most pups because not many can last so long at a “24 hr dog park”. We like to get in individual or pack walks in during the day when possible, so please make sure to include appropriate walking gear for your pup! If what you provide for walking creates more pulling or a possibility for them to get loose off their leash, we will switch them out to our leashes / harnesses for better controlled walking. Depending on your dog’s obedience and willingness for active runs, we may attempt to take them on longer runs with our bikes around the neighborhood.
