A Welcome Woof from CanineCoveTX...

Pet care experience

My dogs and I enjoy sharing our home with your special canine family member(s) for daycare or boarding while you are out of town. Such social animals, most dogs prefer the company of other dogs and 24 hour supervised care rather than being left alone at home with brief visits from a friend, relative, or pet service. We are available days, nights, weekends, and holidays for a day, a night, a week, or more. To provide a homelike atmosphere, your dog will have full house access to choose a favorite napping spot, share companionship and playtime with a few other friendly dogs, or lounge on the couch, our large screened porch, in the shade outdoors, or snuggle by the fireplace. Dogs who prefer being outdoors will enjoy a large tree-shaded yard with a 6' wood fence, locked gates, and access to a utility room. Outdoor dogs will be brought indoors during bad weather, temperature extremes, or if they prefer being indoors at times. We'll follow your information about your dog's normal daily schedule to minimize any stress. Your dog will love the fun of a full day running, playing, jumping, sniffing, exploring, playing tag or tug-of-war, snoozing on the sofa, and making new friends. Even dogs attending daycare once a week experience new sights, sounds, smells, and gain socialization skills so important to "Good Dog!" behavior.

All I can say is "I feel 100% confident that when Sunni Liberty is staying with Doris. She will be well taken care of. Safe and spoiled. As it should be!" Doris is simply "The Best Dog Sitter" that you will find. Reliable and communicative. Kept me updated on Sunni's stay the whole way through. Not too mention she had plenty of exercise with her three other dogs and nicely fenced back yard. Thanks Again Doris for watching over my little girl!! :-)

Doris was great with Maggie! She gave us several updates with pictures during our 8 day vacation, and Maggie had so much fun playing with Doris' dogs as well as another 'guest' doggy during her stay. I would definitely recommend Doris to anyone needing a dog sitter!

Sunni tells me she had the best time over at Canine Cove playing with the other dogs and buckets of toys. Doris made us feel very comfortable and at home prior to Sunni's stay. Super professional service with a smile and Doris is a definite dog lover who you can trust. She kept me updated with notes and pictures during Sunni's stay. Very pleased with everything and couldn't ask for more. Thanks for spoiling my little girl :-) Will definitely use her services again !!

Doris is very sweet and good with dogs. Our playful pup was happy to stay there for the holidays. We were happy to get updates with photos through Rover.com every other day. Overall it was a great experience - it does seem that she tends to sit older or less energetic dogs and maybe prefers those to our VERY playful dog. Would certainly recommend her to anyone in the area looking for a caring person to watch their loved one.

Why I love dog sitting Unless it's possible to be born a dog lover, I don't remember so will say "life-long dog lover". As a small child, I remember my mother's little dog, my friend when I'd been bad. Later, companion, partner. Later still, the wonder of devotion, quite undeserved. As an adult, discovering the degree of communication possible with the eyes, heart, and mind. The love of and for a dog. It just is.......as surely as the sun will rise each morning.

Dogs of any breed, age, 15 lbs. & over (we love seniors!) are welcome. Dogs with sight impairment, deafness, diabetes, and controlled epilepsy are also welcome with prior approval. All dogs must be current with rabies and DHLPP immunizations. Bordatella is also preferred to assure your dog's continued good health. Each dog over one year of age must be spayed or neutered, Each dog must be free from flea or tick infestations, or will be treated immediately upon arrival at the owner's expense. It is equally important that we know about each dog's likes, dislikes, fears, in addition to any routines or habits that will help your dog feel comfortable, and enable me to give your dog the best possible care.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Our street is three blocks long with no cross streets. We walk up to the end of our street and over to the next street, about a mile's walk, ending back at our home without having to cross any streets. All streets have sidewalks. We may also go to the Duck Creek Greenbelt if your dog is well leash trained. Your dog's sleeping arrangement We'll do our best to duplicate where your dog sleeps at home unless sleeping in your bed is the norm. A dog bed along side my dogs' beds, or a crate, with or without the crate door closed, if that is how your dog is accustomed to sleeping. We have medium, large, and colossal crates to accommodate any size dog. Dogs are crated only when I leave on an errand, if they prefer sleeping in a crate, or if necessary at night. Time I'll spend with your dog Your dog will receive 24/7 care and supervision as I do not work outside of my home. Each dog receives individual "Me only" time each day, away from other dogs, for petting, brushing, ear scratches, tummy rubs, play, walks, or other favorite activities. No more than 2 dogs are accepted for boarding at any given time, in order to ensure their "Me only" time. I'm away from home only for usual errands such as groceries, post office, bank.

About this sitter: I'm a native Dallasite who has loved and been "owned" by many dogs so far, and hope there are many more to come. Fascinating dogs of every size, color, temperament, personality, age (we love 'seniors!'); as individual as each human, are one of life's greatest joys. With 20+ years experience as a critical care registered respiratory therapist, also certified in dog CPR and first aid, I can quickly respond should an unexpected event occur. I'm fully insured, a member of Pet Sitters International, and the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS). We'd love to become your dog's 'home away from home'. Providing you with the confidence and peace of mind your dog will be safe, happy, and well cared for is my first priority.
