Experienced dog lover, unable to have my own dog..
Pet care experience
I’m a postgraduate student, originally from Oxfordshire. I’ve always loved dogs but my mum works full time and our house was quite small, so I’ve never had a dog, and since I’ve been a student up until recently, couldn’t yet take matters into my own hands! I live on a farm in a small village with lots of nearby footpaths for walking and hiking, which I love to do myself, with or without a dog. The house is quite small but immediate space to run around outside the front door - it's a very safe and quiet neighbourhood without much traffic on the roads.

Tam had a lovely time with Devon. I know because if he wasn’t happy or even slightly anxious he would not be lying in the sun snoozing. Tam is booked in for a few more sessions with Devon and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her

My experience: My dad has always had dogs, who I’ve looked after both at his house and mine (including walking, washing, feeding, grooming, training..for rescues and all sorts of personalities)...I have other family in australia with adult dogs and puppies who I also have years of experience looking after, and some family friends who I dogsit and house sit for (with very particular instructions for dog meals and walks, which I’ve been able to follow). I’ve worked with horses extensively for 15 years, am used to sticking to detailed instructions for animal care. I know quite a bit about dogs and animal behaviour in general, am very responsible having cared for the horses since I was very young.

Just basics behaviour/personality info - anything they’d be nervous about, or dislike - how they interact with other dogs, rules for walking/feeding - as much info as possible basically so that I can make them as comfortable as possible. Knowing things like when to use treats is really useful..whether they chase rabbits/birds! Etc
A typical day
The variety of hikes and walks near my house is unparalleled - would do several walks a day as needed. There's beautiful fields and quiet footpaths with lots of exciting smells but no traffic. Would love to bath them, groom them, play with them for hours - I'd throw balls and toys for hours, and for a more chilled dog, happy to relax and cuddle!

Availability
I'm working part time, so have lots of time for dog care. I am mostly busy on the weekend, teaching horse riding, so it's possible to do drop ins and walks on those days, but would mostly be looking for boarders during the week when I have more free time!
