Pet care experience
Hello there, I am a retired teacher excited to spend time with your fur baby. Since I was a young child I have been involved with dogs and cats in some sort of way. My first experience, besides owning my own pets, was at the local humane society in the town in which I grew up. I volunteered my time walking, bathing, and cleaning the dog kennels. Currently, I have five fur babies: two cats, two small dogs, and a new puppy. Outside of my own pets, I have been fostering puppies for NOAH for the last two years and worked as a volunteer in the facility up until COVID closed things down. At NOAH I provided dog massage to distressed dogs, I worked in the clinic section with prepping animals for surgery and doing the tasks to ensure the clinic had the necessary items clean and available, and lastly I worked at the front counter greeting and directing people both in person and on the phone. On Christmas day of 2021, I was part of a segment that Fox aired on the NOAH Center's day to day operations. My portion was providing the public with an insight to the foster program. Fostering has been a very positive experience for me and my husband. My philosophy as a dog owner is that pets definitely become part of the family and deserve the best care that a family can provide. I believe in positive reinforcement for behavior feedback for dogs and I am actively taking dog training classes to improve my understanding of dog behavior and body language. I have also taken a massage therapy course for animals through the Northwest School of Animal Massage, but decided not to pursue additional education in this area. I learned how important it is to know your pet's body well enough that lumps and other anomalies can be detected right away. In addition, most dogs enjoy a nice calming massage just like I do. Because of owning my own pets, I have chosen to start offering other people the services that I struggle to find when I am in need. I am happy to stop by and offer playtime and cuddles to your pets, or take them on a walk for some exercise and exploration.

I am happy to start introducing your canine to some basic training during our visits, or while out on a walk. I enjoy seeing dogs learn and believe that training is also important for safety. Worrying about my pets has always made it difficult for me to choose someone that I don't personally know. I understand the anxiety that this can cause, which has become the catalyst to pursuing a Rover account of my own. I have always appreciated lots of pictures and updates about my pets, so I am very willing to do that for you too. Lastly, it is important to me that when I hire people to care for my pets, they provide a professional service with loving care, so that is my promise to you. My services start when I reach your pet and end when the door closes. My time will be spent providing focused attention on your fur baby, not on my phone. I am a non smoker and will respect your home and privacy.
Information Dena B. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that would be helpful while interacting with him/her. Knowing the personality of your pet is helpful and whether or not they are reactive to certain circumstances, if they have any known allergies, and if it is okay for them to have treats.
A typical day
It is important for dogs to be stimulated mentally and physically. We will play games and checkout the neighborhood and all the new smells. I like to offer work for food toys to provide stimulation and build mental skills.

Availability
After being a stay at home fur baby mom for the past several months, I have decided that I want to share all the care, love, and experience I have for dogs and cats with the pets of others. My schedule is open now to provide walks, potty breaks, feeding, and playtime to fur friends.
