Reliable, animal lover!

Pet care experience

I've owned and taken care of a variety of animals over the years, from dogs (small and large), cats, horses (riding and showing), sugar gliders, to bearded dragons. I've owned a conure parrot, a hedgehog, ferrets, and saltwater fish. Currently I have a Havanese, Zoe, who I used to show, and an adopted mixed-breed rescue dog, Midas, who I became a lifetime member of Sit Means Sit with, a top-rated dog training service. Unfortunately on 2/13/24 we lost our furbaby Midas to a rare aggressive cancer called hemangiosarcoma. He was my best friend and my first rescue dog and will forever be in my heart. ❤️ We found a new friend not only for us but also Zoe. Loki Lasso is his name and he was born in January 2024. Loki is a soft coated wheaten terrier and life is much better now. As it has been said, “dogs do not live as long as humans, because it allows you to give a home to another dog.” PET SITTING RATES & INFORMATION, PLEASE READ! I would like my potential dog sitting clients to know that you are charged $40 for the first dog, $30 for the second dog and $30 for each additional dog. If you book a pet sitting during a holiday, I charge $65 for the day before, the day of and the day after only, which means only the the first dog is charged $65, and the rate remains the same for each additional dog. I also charge a $10 flat rate for cats max 4, unless there are “conditions” that require special care. This can be further discussed at our meet & greet. Any “special” care for your pets could increase rates. It is imperative that you always have a profile for cats or “other” pets in order for them to be covered under the Rover guarantee. Other pet sitters will have different rules, like charging holiday rates for everyday they are sitting. Rates are generated by the sitter, not Rover. This means I need my potential clients to understand my rates so I can “modify” these variable charges with Rover before we book the sit. I look forward to taking care of all your fur/no fur babies as I would my own! It’s my goal to have repeat clients, but also one-time only clients! POTENTIAL CLIENTS MORE THAN 40 MILES: If you live further than a 40 mile radius, since I cover a large radius of Indiana, from South Bend, Fort Wayne, Carmel, Noblesville, Fishers to Indy, and many other cities, it is preferred that you book me for a minimum of 4 days because of the distance I need to travel and being further from my family. If it’s only a one-time booking it needs to be at least 2 days. Please know that it is important to do a meet & greet as soon as possible! This allows us to go over all necessary information and meet the pets I will be sitting. If I am sitting for your dog(s) understand, I do my own training and I use positive reinforcement! When I arrive I do not greet your fur babies at this point. When you try to greet a dog that has never met you, their behavior(s) can vary from extreme excitement, negative emotions and anxiety. This is not a healthy way to meet your babies! I will sit with potential clients and allow your dogs to be at a level of calm and relaxation before I meet with them. This has no bearing on my love of animals, especially dogs of which I’ve owned my entire life! I want your pets to have a positive and lasting experience meeting me. 🐾 ❤️

Deborah did an excellent job dog sitting our little Shih Tzu girl. Our little dog liked Deborah right away. Deborah was great in sharing pics with us and giving us detail updates every day so we knew our little dog was doing very well the entire time we were gone Deborah was very knowledgeable in the care she gave to our little girl Our little dog was so much happier staying in her own house while we were away from her We are planning on using Deborah for all of times that we have to leave our little dog in the future.

Deborah has done an excellent job with Shadow. He has anxiety issues…so I felt having someone come to my house would be better for him. I was a bit uneasy with having a stranger in my home…however, she requested we do a meet and greet before the sitting date….which was very helpful! I have used her 3 times now…and she always sends me pictures and texts to let me know how he’s doing. Last time she arrived, Shadow was excited to see her…greeted her with a wagging tail..which put me at ease. I now don’t feel as guilty for leaving him. I know he is in good hands. I will definitely be using her again!

Since I will be in your home my goal will be to follow the routine that you prefer your dog or other pets to follow and is their normal routine. Including what time they get up in the morning, potty breaks, feedings, walking, and play time. This is something we will go over during a meet and greet at your home so that we can go over it together. Please note that while I offer house sitting services, I may need to leave during the day and your animals may be home for a few hours while I am gone. If I’m sitting further than a 30 minute drive, and I’m booked for long stays or back to back, I would appreciate your understanding that my husband may visit only, so we can at least spend time together while I am caring for your pets! If you are looking for full-time, uninterrupted care then we can discuss what that would look like.

Information Deborah W. would like to know about your pet

It’s important to me to manage any special needs, whether it’s medication, injections or special mobility needs. I always appreciate a calendar for when I arrive for medications with time, amounts or any specific need, so I keep them on schedule. Any other specific information as necessary like veterinary numbers for an unforeseen situation.

A typical day

I enjoy walks, playtime, and cuddling with pets! I believe exercise is important and I am dedicated to making sure they receive it, unless you have other preferences. I’m not afraid to handle friendly lizards, ferrets, most small creatures (except spiders sorry). I’m good with bathing if needed, or just some relaxed pet time! I also have a lot of training under my belt and I am always happy to work with your pets should you like me to! Of course I make no guarantees on whether they learn the first time around, but I am always teaching positive reinforcement!
