Fun pet vacations at a quiet farm.
Pet care experience
Hi there! I'm Chessa. I've spent my life on farms and around pretty much animal you can imagine, from managing horse farms to working with exotic wildlife on a conservancy in Kenya. I am very comfortable with literally any type of pet you have, from rodents to reptiles to backyard chickens. Additionally, I am medically trained and have experience providing care to both animals and humans, making me great at caring for pets with any special medical needs, including caring for wounds and giving shots. I won't make careless mistakes or miss any signs that your fur-babies are not ok, letting you enjoy your trip with peace of mind that your home and pets are in good hands. If your pets are rescues or have trouble with new people and you are hesitant or anxious to leave them, please don't be! I am great with reading canine body language and have experience gaining trust with fearful and abused dogs, making their experience of being cared for as stress-free and relaxing as possible.
Reviews
Oliver was so happy at Chessa's. He loved playing with her dog and running around the big fenced in yard. Chessa sent me regular updates and let me know how he was doing which gave me a lot of peace of mind. I am grateful he had a safe, warm, friendly place to go while we were away. I would definitely book with Chessa again.
Chessa has been a god send for me. Taken amazing care of my 3 dogs (one is special needs) my barn full of event horses ( was great about reporting loose shoes and injuries) and even handled my flying possums with fearless skill (they can be intimidating). I would never trust anyone else with my pets..I almost hate giving this testimonial for fear of her being too booked up to help me over the holidays. True professional. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Safety, trust & environment
Quiet, safe farmstay vacation environment for your pet. I have a large fenced in patio and backyard that looks out on several acres of pasture where my horses, chickens and sheep live. No kennels or runs, your pets stay in my house as if they were my own. For anxious or reactive dogs or cat guests, I have a separate area of my house where they can stay without interactions with anyone but me. For older dogs or those with bad hips, there is only one step to go up/down between my house and backyard, so no dangerous staircases to navigate.

Information Chessa K. would like to know about your pet
If you know your dog is cat aggressive please let me know ahead of time. I don't have any cats in my house but I do have barn cats that sometimes frequent my backyard, so I will keep any cat aggressive dogs on a leash.
A typical day
Most of my dog guests are fascinated by watching my chickens in their coop/run, the sheep, and the BIG dogs (horses) in the pasture beyond the backyard fence. My large fenced backyard provides plenty of room to run, play fetch, or just wander and sniff all the smells. My dog Finn loves other high-energy guests to play with, but is also happy to relax and give space to older or low-energy dogs.
