I LOVE dogs!
Pet care experience
I have many years of experience caring for dogs. I was a breeder/caretaker and puppy raiser for the Service Dog organization, Canine Companions For Independence. I've volunteered for our local Animal Rescue organization, Mobile Mutts Transport Rescue for 6 years. My own beautiful labs lived to be 14 and 15 years old. I miss them. I'm dog-less at the moment, so caring for other's dogs is a great way to help other dog-lovers and have dogs in my life at the same time.
Reviews
The very best dog sitter I’ve used. She cared for my senior guy so well. Her porch and fenced yard are perfect. Pretty sure he misses Carol’s place already.
I highly recommend Carol. Extremely attentive and knowledgeable! I felt completely at ease leaving my dog with her!!
Carol is amazing with dogs. She volunteers with a dog rescue, has had dogs and has raised several service dogs. She will be loving and extremely responsible with your pet! You could not find a better person to watch your pet. Your pet will love staying with her!
I have known Carol for almost 50 years going back to college. She is the most caring and compassionate person I have ever met. She cares deeply about animals and has a special fondness for dogs. She has watched my dog on many occasions and I know when he is in her care that he will get plenty of attention and love. Carol is always my first choice when I need a dog sitter!

I have a large, fenced-in backyard that dogs love. I also have a large screened-in porch that I hang out in with my dog visitors ( and neighbors, family and friends.) I don't have any other animals in my home, so your dog won't have to share my attention!

Information Carol O. would like to know about your pet
Before I care for your dog, I'd like to understand his/her temperament, preferences, idiosyncrasies, etc. What is your dog's typical routine? What does your dog love to do? What activities/behaviors doesn't your dog like? Does your dog have fears? Does he enjoy people/other dogs? Do you consider your dog well-behaved? Are there behaviors/habits you are trying to help your dog improve upon? The more I understand about your dog, the better I can care for him/her.
A typical day
We'll walk first thing in the morning to get outside and get a bit of exercise. We'll have breakfast on the porch while we watch the birds, squirrels and neighbors. Our afternoon walk (or run) may take us to Meadowbrook Park or another fun park that involves a car ride. On a nice afternoon, we may hang out in the backyard and garden and chase balls or play with toys. And hanging out on the couch together in the evening while I read is a lovely way to wind down before bed. We may even add an evening walk into our day if we haven't already had enough exercise.

I am mostly retired and a homebody, so I'm home most of the time - your dog will lots of companionship. I'm a big believer in dogs getting plenty of exercise every day, so frequent walks and playing in my yard will be a part of our daily routine. I'm also a runner, so if your dog is comfortable running with me, I love running with a dog!
