Pet care experience
I am a genuine dog lover & spend a lot of time in nature with my dogs. My schedule is quite flexible (especially during the summertime). I have a lot of experience with large dogs rescue dogs. I am very patient & have excellent leash training and basic command skills. I've rescued and raised an older Rottie, a lab mix who is quite a nervous and needy hurricane-rescue, and our Dobie mix, who is growing into a gentle giant who loves to play and learn. All of these dogs required very different approaches to training and care and have all become respectful and wonderful members of our family. I believe that dogs do best when they have a balance of exercise, attention, and training reinforcement.

Much like people, all dogs are unique. It would be helpful for me to know if your dog has certain stressors or tendencies that might put them at risk. For example, does your dog need to be leashed at all times, or can they play safely in your yard off leash? Do they hide in the bathroom when a storm is coming? Are they a nervous dog or a wise old sage who is comfortable anywhere? Do they pull when on leash? Will they try to chase squirrels? Do they get along with other dogs? The more I know about your dog, the better I will be able to meet their needs. I prefer medium- to giant-size dogs.
A typical day
I am open to taking your dog wherever you think they will be comfortable. I enjoy hiking in the woods or walks around town or in your neighborhood. I would be happy to play in the yard with your dog or bring them to the dog park with my dog if they would enjoy that.
