I booked Cara last minute because the normal person that watches my dog wasn't available over the holiday weekend. We text back and forth talking about details and such. This was my first time using Rover so I wasn't quite sure how this all worked. Cara was kind enough to allow me to drop my dog off about 15 minutes earlier than we scheduled since I got there earlier than expected. When I dropped my dog off, I asked her if it was ok that I give her a time range of my return because, with driving, I knew many things could happen with traffic and I didn't want to be late on my return. She said that was perfectly ok and I gave her a time frame of between 4-6:30. I knew that was a big time frame and made sure that was ok with her. She said that was perfectly fine. The second day being gone I got a text from Cara saying my dog didn't eat the first day so she gave her ham and other treats. She checked with her vet (not mine) to ensure ham was good for dogs. Good thing my dog wasn't allergic to ham as she does have many allergies due to her breed. That night she text me asking about what time we would be there to get my dog the next day. I didn't see the text until the next morning unfortunately. I then told her we would be home about 5:30. Well within the time frame she and I originally agreed upon. I then get a text back saying that wouldn't work. I needed to be there by 4 because she made plans. If I wasn't there by 4 she would be charging me an additional day. She says I agreed to be back at 4 which is very untrue. I'm rarely back from vacation by 4 because of the drive. So I had to pack my family up extra quick. Rushing to get out with a 3 and 8yr old isn't fun at all. We cranked it back and was going to be late due to traffic. I finally had to call a family member to go get my dog so I wouldn't be charged another day. PLEASE BE SURE TO GET ALL TIME AGREEMENTS WITH HER VIA TEXT OR EMAIL. OTHERWISE IT DIDN'T HAPPEN APPARENTLY....I only gave a 3 star because she did take great care of my dog other than giving her ham before asking me. Other than that, it was a very stressful experience trying to rush home from 5 hours away so I wouldn't be charged another day. She will take care of your pet. But be sure to get everything in text or email so you have proof of your agreement. UPDATE: Rover support has confirmed with me that my original request for a sitter specifically stated a pickup time frame of 4:30-7p. So she accepted my dog with that time frame of pickup and still made me get home by 4 from my vacation with the threat of charging me an additional day. BEWARE!!!!!
After I meet with Cara she sound attentive and dog lover. Lulu was happy with her dog we agree on Lulu to spend the night with Cara and her dog. I drop Lulu at 1:00pm the next day and I was schedule to pick up at 1:00pm next day.. Cara text at 9:30 asking when I will back to pick Lul.(I need to go to work) I reply to her reminding her that We agree she will watch Lulu until 12:30 to 1:00pm. (She reply) Come early a got go to work. This was Sunday morning.and I left the hotel early to pick Lulu. Got there as soon as cant, around 11:30. When Cara open the door the smoke and somell of weed was so throng and she at all surprise that was there to pick up Lulu. She Handle me the Lulu and the bag of food I droop for Lulu dinner and breakfast still on her PJ. As soonI left the apartment Lulu ran to grass and pee and poop. A good indication Lulu had not bee outsite at all or had eating food. As we got I feed her she eat all the food. Nose that I give Cara another chance thinking I was been to critical of the whole thing. In March 10 I concat Cara to see if she can come on March 11 at 7:00am for a drop off visit to to let lulu out for potty and feed her. Cara agree to stop by. I left a key of the front door for Cara in a hidden place for her. Next day I text her to see how Lulu was. Cara reply two hours late that she was fine as usual.i came home at 1 pm and I rellazy Cara never came to let Lulu out. Lulu was in the hose for about 16. No water on the bowl no food. When I confront Cara and I told her that I have the video that proof she did not stop by the house she imidiatly cancel the the service to avoid a bad review. When I contact Rover.com they act like a was nothing. Very sad this is animal cruelty and who know how many dog that she had done that. This is not about the money is about the animal left behind wit no food or water and any way to go out to pee and poop.cara should not be in Rover.com she is not an animal lover she is here just to make a quick buck. SAD,SAD!
cara was nice, our dogs got along .overall just great
We had a great experience with Cara- I really appreciated her flexibility with scheduling. It was also so nice to receive daily updates and pictures, as this was our first time leaving our little girl :) Cara is truly a dog lover and would definitely recommend her!
