I've been caring for dogs for over 30 years. When I was younger I had pure breed hunting dogs (Brittany Spaniels and English Setters) but my last few dogs have been shelter dogs. I currently have two mixed breed dogs. Lucy, age 4, a mix of Chow and miniature Pinscher and Rocco, age 8, a Keeshond mix. Both have great temperaments and get along well with other dogs. I have a large house that's set back from the street with a large fenced-in backyard in the Barcroft neighborhood of Arlington. The backyard offers plenty of room for the dogs to run, play and get lots of exercise. I usually board on weekends and around major holidays since I don't work from home. Since I have two dogs, I typically board no more than two guest dogs at a time and like to have a meet and greet prior to boarding a new dog to make sure the dogs are compatible. While at my house, your dog will get 2-3 walks per day through the neighborhood in addition to pretty much unlimited play time in the back yard. There are lots of dogs in the neighborhood so your dog will get a chance to interact with other dogs in addition to mine. A 20-30 minute walk will usually poop out my dogs but if your dog requires more exercise let me know and that can be accommodated as well. My dogs are members of my family and yours will be treated the same!
