Hi! My name is Brigit. My childhood best friend, Aspen, was a brown and white spaniel with a huge heart. My love extended to other animals as well, and I now have over 10 years of professional pet care experience. I started out volunteering at my local animal shelter and eventually received a paid position at their pet boarding facility. I was also dog walking and sitting for neighbors and family friends, and I loved it so much that I decided to do it full time! I have cared for dogs and cats of just about every size, age, breed, and temperament. I have experience with special needs dogs, including medication administration and wheelchairs. I have also cared for bunnies, guinea pigs, fish, frogs, birds, and even mini donkeys!

In addition to allergies and other medical history, I like to know about the dog’s usual behavior, including any triggers. This helps me keep them safe, and to know if anything is wrong. I also like to know their usual routine and preferences, including feeding times and walking areas. The familiarity helps dogs feel safer. I do not have any breed preferences - I love every dog, big and small ♥
A typical day
Pets in my care receive exercise, love, and lots of cuddle time ♥ For dogs, I typically do 1 long walk a day when housesitting, plus shorter walks or potty breaks as needed. The walk lengths will be tailored to each dog’s fitness level and the weather (for example, shorter but more frequent walks when it's very hot out to avoid heat stroke). With your permission, I would love to include adventures to the beach, the dog park, or hikes.

Availability
I DO NOT HAVE ANY MORNING WALK/DROP-IN AVAILABILITY AT THIS TIME. I am generally available for walks and drop-ins from 1pm to 9pm. As a rule, I never leave pets for over 6 hours, though I am not usually gone that long. Please let me know how long your pet is used to being home alone. Rover automatically applies the puppy rate to any dog under 1 year. If your dog is fully potty trained and can be left for 4+ hours, let me know and I would be happy to switch the booking to the standard rate. I may also apply the "puppy" rate for a dog of any age that cannot be left for 4 hours.
