Pet care experience
My previous experience with canines involves working with military dogs, search and rescue dogs, as well as having volunteered at 3 different Animal Shelters. When it comes to other critters I have worked at Petsmart and Volunteered in a Butterfly House and Aquarium in South Dakota. I am passionate about dog training, nutrition, enrichment, quality of life, and canine behavior. Please feel free to ask me as many questions as you like about any training, care, and plans I have for my time with your pets. Each stay and adventure is catered to your beloved companions needs and comfort level. I look forward to meeting you!
Reviews
Andrea was very dependable & definitely gave my kitten great care! She even brought toys her cats no longer used. Everyday I got great photos! She was very respectful of my wishes & gave me ideas of things to distract her from bad behavior. I will definitely use her again!
Thank you sooo much Andrea for doggie sitting, house protecting and being awesome!
Andrea is awesome. She’s conscientious, and kind. My dog loves her. Since she’s left he’s been sitting by the front doors. He may like her more than me :).
Andrea did great with my young, high-energy Labrador. Andrea demonstrates honesty, maturity, patience and caring. She is a good listener and provides relevant tips and feedback. I hope to be able to have her spend time again soon with my Lab!

Safety, trust & environment
I am well versed with the safety of various training tools such as: crates, e-collar, muzzles, various types of leashes, martingales, and more. For overnight stays I will send 2 pictures a day (one afternoon or morning and one in the evening) so you know what your pet has been up to. I promptly alert to any medical condition or injury should one take place. Finally I make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable with a relationship of trust between us. Do note: I will not use a prong on your pet.
Information Andrea H. would like to know about your pet
I do not drive. I do have a disability that does not interfere with my job performance. Finally I do walk a dog 3x a week and will be away for an hour to do so on those days.
A typical day
When I walk a dog, I like to first take it on a familiar route of its own neighborhood so we can get to know each other, and I can understand his or her leash habits without too many new distractions. Anywhere from bike paths, woods, parks, city streets, and hiking trails will be much enjoyed by your canine companion when in my care. If desired, stopping for a puppaccino at the local Starbucks, dog park visits, games of fetch, agility, or pools when allowed may be included in the experience. ADDITIONS FOR MY OVERNIGHT STAY CLIENTS! Ask about these if you want them included!! Watering Plants - Free Garden Care - Free Loose Leash Training - Free Baths - Free Brush - Free Teeth Brushing- Free Ear cleaning- Free Socialization - Free (Will bring dog to socialize with) Mail & Packages - Free Medicine Administration - Free Injury Care - Free Homemade treats- Free Enrichment — Free (sometimes I bring puzzles and other fun things) Please tell me if there are behaviors or tricks you have been working on with your dog that you want me to mirror! Dogs that are elderly or dogs with special needs are not more expensive nor cost any additional fees. I DO charge for additional pets in the home. Birds, cats, fish, reptiles, arachnids, goats, pigs, and pocket pets (chinchilla, ferrets, mice, rats, guinea pigs). I do not do horse care because I do not feel I’m knowledgeable enough about them and I’m afraid of horses. Lastly and very important to know: Everyone is free to have their opinion on training tools and rules for their pets and I respect that. But due to my own beliefs for pet safety I will NOT walk a dog on a prong or flexi-lead. Those are the only two tools I will not agree to use. I will also NOT let any cats outside under my care. Not only to prevent harm to the local ecosystem (I wouldn’t want a loose dog harming wildlife or other pets and I feel the same about cats being loose), but I will not put an animal at risk under my care by leaving it unsupervised as it could get lost, stolen, hurt, or worse and I take animals under my care very seriously and responsibly. If you have a harness walked cat, or enclosed catio for outdoor time that’s perfectly fine for me.

This is my full time job! I will have plenty of time to spend with your pet and immerse myself in their daily routine while making them apart of mine. Do note: I always leave on the last day at 12pm. It is a 24 hour sitting service paid only by the night. Because of this if asked to work past 12pm of the last day I DO charge another days worth fee so I am not working unpaid.
