Life is better with all the dogs!

Pet care experience

I’ve taken care of many different dogs in many different settings. From puppies that need lots of playtime and training, to seniors, that need extra love and care, and all the fun ages and care in between! I have experience as a kennel tech, experience in animal care in a veterinary setting, and lots of experience with raising my own, grooming my own Doodle, sitting for friends and neighbors, and fostering shelter dogs.

We'd only had Tank, our 3 month old Sheltie, for 2 weeks when we found ourselves needing someone to watch him for an overnight. Once Tank and I met Amy and saw the wonderfully pet-friendly environment she offered, I knew she was the perfect person to watch my new baby. On our initial visit, Tank played with Amy's own dogs and had a blast. I had never seen him interact with dogs other than his parents or siblings, so it was fascinating for me to watch Amy's dogs and Tank running around the yard playing. With Amy allowing us that initial visit, I was quite comfortable leaving Tank in her care several days later. She continually sent photos, notes, and videos about Tank while he was in her care. I couldn't have asked for a better person to care for my new puppy. Amy was absolutely incredible from the moment she took Tank in. Thank you, Amy! You will be first on our list when Tank needs another sleepover!

Couldn’t ask for a better sitter for Lexi. Amy went above and beyond. She responded quickly and was willing to watch our pup with short notice. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing our fur baby was in good hands. I would recommend Amy in a heartbeat!!

Amy is fantastic with my kitties! She was promptly there to give 1 her insulin shots at her usual times; and even cleaned up when the other cat made a mess. Photos and detailed reports were helpful, letting me know everything was A-OK :)

Safety, trust & environment

We have a large fenced in yard in a single family home. I have an older senior dog who enjoys supervising, a three year old lab mix who loves play catch, and a one year old Bernedoodle who thinks he’s the master at playing tag. Plenty of options for socializing and playing! I crate all the dogs when we are not home, and always leave the crates available if the dog prefers to take a break in there during the day. We have two children, 8 and 5 who love to help out with the dogs as well. I also have a resident cat that tolerates visitors. We have the ability to keep senior dogs or dogs with extra needs separate from the younger dogs if needed by using an office space and/or an in-law suite in the basement. Someone is usually always home for dogs with a lot of separation anxiety issues.

Information Amy P. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that I can accommodate for you. I love all dogs, but know some need a little extra love!

A typical day

We love to play outside in the backyard until we are so tired we come inside and take nap! Playing chase or fetch after the ball are definitely our favorites, but we like to play tug of war too! Inside we often learn new tricks, play hide and seek, or just cuddle on the couch!
