Pet care experience
My husband and I live in Lake Zurich, IL with our 7 year old son and our little 16 year old Morkie Howie :) We are both dog lovers and I volunteered at Paws in Chicago for years and got to spend time with the rescued dogs. We also were pet sitters through Rover in Chicago for 4 years before we moved to Lake Zurich. We took a break from sitting to let our boy grow up and now that he is seven we are excited to welcome guests back into our lives! We watch our friends and families dogs as well when they go out of town so we have lots of experience caring for other peoples dogs. We have a fenced in yard with lots of room for our guests to run around and we live in a great neighborhood for walks. There are also a lot of great spots for photo sessions with our little doggy models :) We are very flexible as far as drop off and pick up times because my husband works from home and as long as we are in town (we love to travel) we are cool with last minute requests. Our only request is that your dog is a small to medium breed because Howie is only 5 pounds! Howie is 16 so as a senior dog he sleeps a lot so it would be nice to have a dog who enjoys walks and exercise!

Amanda and her family took amazing care of our dog Lola. We received frequent updates while we were away and I could tell that Lola had a lot of fun and felt well cared for even though she was away from home. We would definitely trust Amanda and her family to take care of Lola again and would highly recommend for any boarding needs!
Charlie had a wonderful time with Amanda and her family. I really liked Amanda providing constant updates and pictures of Charlie. It definitely gives comfort when you are confident that your dog is been taken care so well. I will highly recommend her.

Our fenced in yard will protect our guests from any outside elements. We are laid back as far as guests are welcome to go on our furniture or sleep in bed with us. If they are crated that is fine as well but we love to cuddle.

A typical day
We live close to some great forest preserves so we like to take our guests to Cuba Marsh or Deer Grove and hit the trails on the weekends or evenings. Our neighborhood is also a good spot for walks.

My husband works from home and I have Thursdays off so your dog will almost always have company! With the fenced in yard our guest will have lots of potty runs in the back and then multiple walks as well as we like to get our steps in as we know our guests do as well!
