Professional Level Pet Care
Pet care experience
I have been an animal lover for as long as I can remember and was glued to animal planet as a child. I grew up dogs and cats, and eventually became an avid equestrian as well. I never lost this passion and received a bachelor's in biology with an emphasis in zoology from the University of Central Florida. Outside of academia, I have worked as a stable hand, a riding instructor for beginner and intermediate riders, a large dog daycare attendant, and a shift lead at a pet resort. All of these positions required attention to detail, an understanding of animal behavior across a plethora of species, and a willingness to get down and dirty to keep everyone happy and healthy.
Reviews
Alyssa was amazing! She was flexible and did a wonderful job taking care of Zoie. I felt so comfortable leaving my fur baby with her. Zoie came home happy! I highly recommend Alyssa to anyone who is looking for good quality care for their pup. I will definitely reach out to her in the future.
I had such a wonderful experience with Alyssa! They kept me updated throughout the entire time and made sure that my dog's needs were met. It was clear that they treated my furry baby as their own. I highly recommend them for anyone in need of a caring, responsible and loving dog sitter !
Alyssa was a fantastic sitter! She was very attentive to my dog's special instructions (my dog is people-shy and dog-reactive) and was very involved in keeping my dog physically and mentally exercised. Alyssa was also super communicative throughout the entire sit and sent lots of daily photos and little stories of my dog's day. I'd definitely recommend her and wouldn't hesitate to book her again.
Alyssa did a wonderful job taking care of our pups! 10/10 def booking again

Currently I don't have a fur baby, which is a big reason why I became involved with Rover. I cherish time spent with all animals, and aim to give them the most positive experience I can. To ensure consistency, I like to speak with owners to understand what boundaries and expectations they set for their pet and myself, as well as any quirks or health issues so there are no surprises. I want to know what training style you have utilized, or what is the biggest reward to them for a job well done.

Information Alyssa L. would like to know about your pet
If your dog has any medical conditions, sensitivities, allergies, or behavioral quirks please let me know! Every dog is unique and deserves care that caters to their individual needs. I am happy to work with you to accommodate them completely. If possible I would love to do a meet and greet first to ensure I would be a good fit for your fur baby. I like to get an idea of a normal routine for your pet to maximize their comfort and security while they are in my care.
A typical day
Dogs are happiest when they get plenty of exercise both mentally and physically. I like to keep them entertained by taking them on long walks or runs so they have plenty of time to explore the environment and get fresh air. If your dog is well socialized there is also a dog park within walking distance of my apartment that is great for burning energy with friends. On days that are just too rainy or cold to spend much time outside I like to run through some basic obedience work with the help of their favorite treats, or create puzzles for them to solve. For the rare couch potato, I still want to give them one on one attention through grooming or belly rubs so they know they are well cared for.

Availability
I currently have open availability all days unless I have booked with another client. My primary job does require seasonal travel so any changes to my schedule will be reflected on my Rover calendar. That being said it's hard to know my exact availability if you are trying to book 3 or more months in advance, but inquiries are always welcome! I live with my significant other, who would also assist in the supervision and care of any boarded or daycare individuals.
