Every now then, you need a good story to warm your heart…and if it involves man’s best friend, even better! Prepare yourself for the warm fuzzies. The six following doggy tales might just set off the waterworks.

A Profound Tribute to a Lost and Loyal Dog

Photographer Ben Moon and his dog, Denali, have been through it all. When Moon was diagnosed with cancer, Denali stayed by his side. When Denali grew older and got sick himself, Ben created this beautiful video documenting their friendship from Denali’s point of view. His film is a perfect encapsulation of the profound love that grows between a man and his dog. Have the tissues handy; this stunning tribute is difficult to get through without a tear.

Thanks to technology and sheer ingenuity, Nikon came out with a way for your intrepid pooch to capture the world around him. Utilising a mechanism that measures your dog’s heartbeat, Nikon’s camera is activated every time your dog gets excited and snaps an image to preserve the moment. Just seeing how easily pleased our canine counterparts are gives us all the feels.

When Poh, a 15 year old dog from New York City was given a terminal prognosis at the vet, owner Neil Rodriguez knew there was only one thing to do: take a cross country bucket list road trip with his faithful sidekick. From the Seattle Space Needle to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the wide eyed duo saw it all. Rodriguez told ABC News, “People think I take care of Poh, but Poh takes care of me.”

Mufasa’s Incredible Transformation

Rescued from a water treatment plant facility in Los Angeles, Mufasa was simply put, a hot mess before his rescue. Scared, sick, and stinky, this shaken cutie had to be coaxed out with treats before being whisked away to safety. Today, this regal pooch has found a forever home where he only has to deal with large amounts of water at the beach or during bath time.

After five years in various shelters, Chester the pit mix was snapped up by a loving family immediately after a simple photo of the lonely pooch with a sign that read the following was posted online:

“Anybody want me? I’ve been waiting 5 years. Everyone at the shelter tells me what a good boy I am. So why has no one adopted me? I promise to be good and love my new family. Please maybe you are my new family. I sit and wait for you to come.”—Chester

Dreams do come true, Chester!
