asked a question | Does anyone ever get marketing emails anymore? Does anyone ever get any kind of marketing / correspondence from Rover anymore? I used to get emails from Rover very regularly. As a sitter, I'd get promotions, contests, etc. I haven't seen any of these emails in months. Am I off of the email list or did something happen? |

commented question | Recommendations for pet sitting insurance companies? I ended up signing up with a policy. One thing people should know is that if you are hosting dogs in your home, you need Kennel insurance, because pet sitting insurance generally only covers you at other people's homes. |

commented question | Can I get some advice on sensitive situation? Hey there! In addition to being a dog sitter, I am an licensed clinical social worker. I think it's absolutely okay to reach out and let someone know you've been thinking about them. Even a text message is appreciated by someone in grief. I would definitely reach out. |

commented answer | Recommendations for pet sitting insurance companies? Thanks Walt, I agree. It's pretty amazing that a company that seems to be expanding so quickly would do this, and I definitely do enough business where I need to be covered in the event of something happening. I think Kennel Pro seems to have what I am looking for. Its $425 a year but covers in-home |

asked a question | Recommendations for pet sitting insurance companies? Hi everyone, I've noticed Rover has changed the wording on what they used to refer to as "Premium Insurance". It is now called the "Rover Guarantee" and says that it will kick in if the sitter is "not willing or able" to pay for any costs after going through mediation. Because of this, I've decided I will need to get my own pet sitting policy. Through my googling, it seems like PetCare insurance is the best deal I've found. Does anyone else use them and have any input? Or does anyone else use a different comapny? |
answered a question | Aware of this scam? Ha! I got a very similar message last week. My policy is to never take the conversation off of Rover, so it did not go very far, but I didn't realize it was a scam til I saw this. They also asked me to provide walking, which I do not provide, and said they were going to pay me $20/hour for boarding. I went to report them, but their profile is now deactivated. |
