I have a dog that suffers from dry skin and who also has different kind of allergies. Before I changed his diet, he would itch as if he had fleas also. I had tried sprays and other remedies and even a grain free diet, but it wasn't until I switched over to a grain free food that contained only fish for the meat. The most common food allergies in dogs are chicken, pork and beef believe it or not! I also don't give him regular full baths as much, instead I use a waterless shampoo that works great and doesn't dry out his skin and coat and I use all natural moisturizer products for his paws and areas that are prone to dryness. I even changed his treat diet and I add pure pumpkin to his meals. He looks so much better and is itch free and overall a happier pup!! I was amazed how much of a difference all this made. My advice is to read up on healthy diets for dogs, especially your own dog's breed, because each breed has it own kind of coat and skin needs. Also, research all natural products you can use. You can find some really great deals, I researched many different foods, brands and products before I purchased anything. I also talked to other pet owners and got some great advice. I have dogs that I sit and walk for on similar diets and products and then I have a couple dogs who are not, and wow I can really tell the difference, even in many other health conditions and also in behavioral health. I have another dog that I also switched over to a more healthier and natural diet and product needs, who had some behavioral and digestive issues before the change and now he is free of all digestive issues and his behavior changed dramatically!
