answered a question | Can I give my dog something to help him sleep? Okay, scary warning first: NEVER give your dog medication, unless specifically prescribed by your veterinarian. A lot of medication can be toxic to pets, even if it's a health supplement or natural oils. Just don't do it. If your dog is anxious and has trouble sleeping, it's a good idea to ask your vet for advice/recommendations about treatment. If your dog just has a lot of energy, a nice long walk in the evening can help tire your dog out for bedtime. A good nightly routine can help teach your dog when it's time for bed as well. But there are anti anxiety medications your vet can give you that will help calm your dog, if necessary. |
answered a question | Why does my dog's breath smell bad? Dogs aren't known for having the best smelling breath. However, if this odor is noticeably different/worse than usual, it's a good idea to ask your vet about it--bad breath is often the first sign of dental disease in dogs, so it's always better to be safe and get it checked out! |
commented question | As a "user", do you have to use this Q&A system? I don't want to do this. I only signed up for a dog walker/sitter. Is this a requirment? Not at all! This is just a resource forum to help sitters and owners with any questions. Simply go to http://www.rover.com to request a sitter/walker in your area. |
commented question | Can I walk two dogs for the price of one or at least give a discount for the second dog? If so, I do I do that? Yes, IF the dogs are part of the same booking. In the "modify price" part of the booking, you can scroll to each dog--there is a little box that you can edit, just type in the number you want to charge, and hit save. You can also make price adjustments at the bottom--hit the +/- to add/subtract. |
commented question | Does my dog need flea and heartworm meds if he only goes outside to potty? Most vets recommend it, no matter where you live--Your dog may only go outside for short periods, but fleas/parasites like mosquitoes can latch on to you, your clothes, or just fly in through the door, and you can actually transfer them to your pet, just by walking inside your home! |

asked a question | Rover Cards not getting to clients? Is anyone else having trouble with the Rover Cards not being received by clients? Every time I have used them, not a single client gets one! I know I am doing it correctly. I take a screen shot of it after it pops up when it has sent, so I know it is sent, and so I can send the screen shot to my clients in case it doesn't show up. These will be required soon. What is the point of me using this if the client doesn't get it? I love the idea, but if I can't get it to my client, then this is useless extra work for me, because I am essentially having to send a message twice. EDIT: I am still having issues with this. A few of my clients are getting frustrated by this as well. One client uses the app, so even if she can't get the Rover Card when it pops up, she should be able to view it in the "more" or "menu" tab after the fact, right? Also, Does anyone know when these will be required? The Rover article just says "fall 2016". Really want to figure this out before they are required!! |
