answered a question Do I have my meet & greet / booking order of operations correct?

Why set the meet and greet so far out? Chances are once they meet you they will either commit or decline then and there after they see how you work with their pets. I would set up meet and greets fairly soon after getting a request. If they're unsure because they're not sure if they'll leave or not and need the service, then you could always suggest drop-in sitting instead if applicable, that way you can still take on other clients and the pressure isn't so high on whether they book you or not. Also, unless these dogs would be a huge under taking, I wouldn't mark yourself unavailable.

answered a question Help--My dog wont eat dry food anymore?

My eldest dog did this to me when I first rescued her, I think we went through 8 different brands of kibble before she'd finally eat more than a few bowls of it. In between some switching of brands she'd get canned food or meat treats and would refuse to eat the kibble and instead look for the meat. To get her to eat the kibble she'd shown interest in I would soak it in chicken or beef broth and add some meat for a while and gradually took it out until she ate it on her own, now I treat the dogs to "dinner noms" where I add carious things like canned food, left overs they can have, veggies, broth, raw meat, etc. Any picky eaters I've dealt with in the past I simply add cooked and shredded meat, never had one turn it down. Sometimes it's a sickness too, they just feel crappy and don't want to eat just like humans. If the dog is acting odd outside of just ignoring her kibble then there might be something else going on. Pooping good? No bad breath worse than normal? No obvious took issues? Normal energy level? Etc, look at the whole picture. If the dog still refuses to eat switch the food, maybe she's bored with the taste. mine get switched different meat bases within the same brand to change the taste up a bit, that happens every month when I have to get more kibble.

answered a question Do you change food amount based on activity?

From my experience working with a vet as well as my own observations, if your dog is VERY active one day then not the next then high energy again the following day you should feed a bit more than you would normally to help compensate the burned energy, and by this change I mean a lazy or moderate activity dog suddenly goes on a 5 mile strenuous hike. As someone else said, chances are if your dog has days like this they'll likely sleep hard the next day anyway, but all dogs are different. It also depends on the food you feed, if you feed a high quality kibble it's high in protein and proper fats content can sustain this fluctuating energy pattern where a poor quality kibble could not. If feeding a complete nutrition food you shouldn't need to supplement but you can on days like this by giving extra fat and red meat if your dog is used to getting it. I hunt a lot so my dogs get raw deer year round from bones and muscle to fat and hairy skin, they love it. They get walks daily that are anywhere from .5-2 miles depending on the time I have and they're off leash so they're getting even more of a workout, and then we'll go hike somewhere for hours and miles and they sleep the rest of the day and the next and get an extra deer leg with fat on it to help with this massive energy burn.
