answered a question Where do you have your meet and greets?

For Dog Boarding: I'm a little luckier when it comes to where I live. My house is located between a church and a funeral home (weird! I know, but the house was here first!) and I don't have any neighbors, so what I usually tell my potential clients is that we can meet at the church parking lot which is connected to my driveway.

That way, the dogs won't be all territorial when the guests arrive. If things go well from there, I suggest that we move the M&G over to my house and I'll give them a tour and see how they act in the house and get them accustomed to the new surrounding and smell.

For Drop-In Visits / Dog Walking: I go over to the prospective clients house and I ask if it's alright if I bring my boyfriend (who lives with me) just so I feel safer going to a stranger's house. They're always alright with it and totally understand where I'm coming from.

commented question What is the policy on selling items on Rover?

Great! Deb actually posted a link similar to my question and it helped me a bit. I'll just make it easier and send Rover and e-mail so I can get an answer from them directly. Thank you!

That's awesome! Thank you so much for the link, Deb!

asked a question What is the policy on selling items on Rover?

When I'm not dog sitting, I am a freelance graphic designer (who works from home) and my boyfriend brought up a pretty good idea for me to make a little bit of extra money on the side through Rover and the dog parents.

Since I do a lot of artwork, he mentioned that I could possibly sell digital paintings of the dogs that I'm taking care of. I like the idea, but I don't want to break a Rover rule. I looked through the FAQs, but didn't find anything.

So, I was just wondering if there's a policy anywhere (that I might have missed) that states that doing such things are not allowed.

Thank you!

commented answer What's the etiquette on asking pet owners for materials if you're puppy sitting?

I love the checklist suggestion! I wouldn't have thought to use that. Since I'm new, I just kind of blurt out whatever is at the top of my head whenever I do a Meet&Greet, and it's easy to forget things that way. Thank you for your suggestion! I truly appreciate it. :)

It's good to have extra must-have's just in case the parents forget to bring it! Thank you for your suggestions. :)

Thank you for your suggestion! I wouldn't have thought to have a "Please Leave At Home" list. That's something I'll definitely keep in mind for future stays. :)

asked a question What's the etiquette on asking pet owners for materials if you're puppy sitting?

I will be puppy sitting this weekend and while the owners were the first to say they'll bring puppy food, pads, and crates, I'm not sure, otherwise, how to bring it up.

Is it my responsibility, as a sitter, to get the puppy food and pads? Or should I be asking the owners to provide it for me?
