answered a question | Giving a dog a bad rating?
This sounds like Sleep Aggression. I would not be in the same bed with that dog. It's unfortunate that owner/client ratings can't be shared among sitters, but it's not in Rover's best interest to turn away a paying client with a bad dog. This is why thorough meet & greets and/or home visits should be a requirement you enforce. Treat this bad interaction as a learning experience and change the way you do business to minimize (but not remove) the chances of it happening again. Create a checklist of things you could have done differently, or could have noticed as a red flag while the stay is fresh in your mind, and use it going forwards. I know some people that do boarding through here have additional forms they require potential clients to fill out that ask "harder" questions about behavior, vet records, etc.. Form packets can also include additional legal disclaimers too. |
answered a question | Is it possible to adjust rates to $0 and give repeat/new clients a free day? Lowest is $1. Lowest for my area in order to be covered under the Rover Guarantee is $10. This price varies from ara to area. Contact Support to learn yours. |

asked a question | Is it possible to adjust rates to $0 and give repeat/new clients a free day? I would like to offer a free day as an incentive for new or repeat clients. Is it possible to adjust the rate down to $0 to accommodate this? Edit: It won't accept $0.... anyone know how low we can go? |
answered a question | Does anyone keep notes on clients? Dogs? Any way to block or suspend clients? I've read answers to similar questions and don;t need to keep this posted. |
asked a question | Does anyone keep notes on clients? Dogs? Any way to block or suspend clients? I have come across a client that I am not sure what to do with. Either they don't seem to understand how Rover works, or they are trying to cram through a same-day request without doing a required meet and greet (which gives me pause, and I consider to be a dealbreaker). I see that there is a place for me to add notes about the dog/client, but is there a shared notes area so sitters can see history for other stays/sitters? Alternatively, is there any way to block or suspend this client from contacting me? Their requests aren't direct to me, and are coming from Rover as suggestions from "out of area" that would not affect my scores in any way. |

asked a question | Haven't booked yet. Meet and Greet did not work out. How do I cancel? The only way to contact sitters is to make a reservation. I made reservations for several sitters to talk with them and arrange meet and greets (as per the site's own recommendations) and have not booked anything yet. The meet and greet started out well, but ultimately we decided it was not going to be a good fit. Do I need to book THEN cancel? Is there another way to undo this? |
