Haven't booked yet. Meet and Greet did not work out. How do I cancel?

The only way to contact sitters is to make a reservation. I made reservations for several sitters to talk with them and arrange meet and greets (as per the site's own recommendations) and have not booked anything yet.

The meet and greet started out well, but ultimately we decided it was not going to be a good fit.

Do I need to book THEN cancel? Is there another way to undo this?

If you haven't paid, then there's no need to cancel with that particular sitter or take any action whatsoever. Many owners set up M&Gs with more than one sitter. If the sitter is waiting to hear back from you--which isn't the case--then it would only be polite to let them know you've gone with someone else. As Laura wrote above, just archive the request or it will eventually archive itself.

I believe the ball is in the sitter's court as far as canceling the request. To the best of my knowledge, it is up to the sitter to archive the request. (I am a Rover Sitter, and haven't used the services from a client standpoint, so I only know the system from the one side.) Don't worry - you won't be charged for anything you don't approve. Even if a sitter clicked on the button to book it, you would still need to confirm before the stay is officially booked.

If you haven't booked, there's nothing to cancel. The pending request can be archived (the sitter and client can each archive the conversation independently; the sitter archiving the request doesn't remove it from the client's inbox and vice versa) or simply ignored. Once the stay date has passed, it will archive itself.

Hi James,

You can contact Rover Support directly by phone or email (Ph. [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] Support@Rover.com) and let them know which sitter(s) was/were not a match.

Rover Support will cancel booking(s) on your behalf if still pending and then you don't have to think about it (no approval request).

I can confirm clients can't archive requests. It's actually really annoying!

Was going to upload a screenshot, but it seems I don't have enough points.
