commented answer | Multiple Meet & Greets but we are penalized? I totally agree. I am both a sitter and an owner and I think having to pay when you book is difficult sometimes. I do understand why though. If an owner books and blocks your calendar but then doesn't pay it puts everyone in a bad position. |
asked a question | Pain Points ... ? I have been a Rover sitter for over 3 years now and really like the service. There are a few pain points though that I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing?

answered a question | I have been sitting a dog and the owner came back from vacation earlier then paid. How do i refund them the few days they already paid for? When this happens I offer them a night or two free next time (depending on how early they come back). People seem to be happy with this option and it helps return clients! |

asked a question | How to restrict new requests to existing clients? I cannot find the option to restrict new requests to existing clients. I am sure I have seen that in past - where is it? |

answered a question | How often do you send pics? I send pictures daily for new clients. For repeat clients I will send about pics every other day unless it's an anxious 'parent' and then I will still do every day. As a dog mommy myself seeing pictures of my dogs when I am gone just makes me feel better about how they are doing. |
asked a question | IS there a bookings calendar view? Is there any place I can see a calendar view of pending, current, and future bookings? All I see when I click on my calendar is available or not available colors. There is no information that tells me what dogs I have accepted, what pending requests I have, or meet and greets. It makes it hard to juggle everything - especially when I have pending meet and greets. You have to toggle through email lists and scan the dates manually which is a pain and prone to error. The current stay is listed under future bookings which seems counter-intuitive as well. I realize you can sync your Outloook calendar with Rover but that doesn't cover all the bookings (pending/meet-n-greets), etc. And it would be much easier if I could just go to Rover and see it in a visual format. Also, the mobile app availability calendar is not showing me as not available for stays I have booked. I'm hoping maybe the functionality is there and I'm just not in the right place? |

answered a question | Two dogs from separate families? Thanks to you both. Yesterday was better. I kept them separated for the most part but spent a lot of time with both. I believe it is my poodle that's the issue. Today I'm letting the lab stay out while I go to work and putting the cattle dog upstairs - which he likes. |

asked a question | Two dogs from separate families? Against my better judgement I accepted two new dogs from separate households. I have three dogs of my own. I did meet and greets with both (separately) and there were no red flags. Since June when I started sitting with Rover I've had a rule of no more than one household at at time. With the Holidays I thought I'd make an exception. The first dog, Australian Cattle dog, arrived yesterday mid-day. He was submissive to my dogs and wanted to play a lot. He is also very affectionate with me and settled in well. The second dog arrived today about 1 - a black lab who is very large (my dogs are small - largest being a sheltie). He is very gentle and not rambunctious. Both dogs are about 2.5 yrs. When the lab first arrived the australian cattle dog and the lab played for a minute or so until my min poodle mix tried to tell everyone he was boss. From that time on the australian attacked the lab pretty viciously every time he saw him. I have kept them separated for the most part for the majority of the day. I just feel like I am doing both dogs a disservice because I am not giving either the attention I'd normally give. I only have the lab until Wednesday and he is normally kenneled at night and if the owners aren't home. I have the australian until a week from Monday. BTW, the lab gets along great with my other dogs and me and wouldn't show any aggression at all - he doesn't ever initiate the aggression. So, other than I should have never done this without knowing each dog first, what can I do from now until Wednesday to make each dogs stay fun and enjoyable? They are both really great dogs. Thanks in advance for any help you can give - specifics would be great - like how long is it okay to leave one dog to play with the other. I know... I worry about these things... |
