answered a question Sitter Saftey -- Have you ever felt unsafe visiting a client?

I agree with always trusting your intuition. I recently had an unsure feeling as well before a meet and greet. The male client wanted to meet very early in the morning and I insisted on meeting at the dog park and I would not let up. He even asked me if I babysit children, which I thought was very odd for someone to ask over a pet sitting sight! I ended up meeting him and his dog but I brought my husband along with me because I still felt very uncomfortable. He ended up saying at the meet and greet that he decided not to go on vacation for the days he was looking for ... how convenient. We have to put safety first so please if you ever feel like something is "off" from a request, do not meet the person alone!

Stay safe!

answered a question House sitting for two dogs - Owner asks you to drive them to daycare?

I agree that Rover should cover if anything happens. Ask the owners if they have a seat cover they use to transport the dogs and if you can borrow it. Or if they even have crates they use to transfer the dogs in. If you would like to charge a little extra for the gas then I would just talk to the owners about it and they should be happy to comply. Good Luck!

commented answer What are your recommendations for a small breed that does not shed and does well with children?

Mini Dachshunds are the best! They are active enough to play with children but also sleep a lot. If you have a short haired Dachshund, they do not shed. They are the best little breeds! I love watching them!
