House sitting for two dogs - Owner asks you to drive them to daycare?

Hi there! I have an upcoming stay with two dogs for two weeks. The owners have asked me to take both dogs to daycare twice each week, for a total of 4 drop-offs and 4 pick-ups.

Is this a normal request? I am a bit nervous driving two dogs in my new-ish car, as all dogs act differently in cars. I am also curious as to what Rover's policy is on this, as I'm sure it's a huge liability and their insurance most likely doesn't cover it. Also, should there be an extra cost for this service if Rover does allow it?

If anyone has experience with this, it would be so appreciated. Thank you!

Rover's premium insurance states that it covers the following: What Care Is Eligible? Dog boarding, Day care, Pet sitting, Dog walking, Transportation, Any pet service for an animal booked through Rover.com (such as cat care)

Since transportation is listed, I would imagine that it would be okay for you to take the dogs to daycare if you are comfortable doing so. I would definitely add an additional fee for the trips that you will be making, as that is a service you will be providing outside of sitting.

I agree that Rover should cover if anything happens. Ask the owners if they have a seat cover they use to transport the dogs and if you can borrow it. Or if they even have crates they use to transfer the dogs in. If you would like to charge a little extra for the gas then I would just talk to the owners about it and they should be happy to comply. Good Luck!

Normally there is a place to add pick up/drop off fees. In my area its about $10 each time. So make sure you communicate with them what you will change total to do that service.

I would think that Rover would be okay with it. There are instances when you would transport them: taking them hiking, to a dog patk, etc. Ask them for and old blanket to lay on the seats of your car.

They probably want the dogs to keep their regular schedule while they are gone and this gives you a break. It's up to you wether you charge for this service. For me, it would (Jack) d depend on h it a far out of my way it is.
