answered a question do you guys give a goody bag every time you pet sit a client even if its a repeat client?

Personally, I always make a little goody box for clients that board or do day care. I usually have way too many treats on hand, through either my family or bark box, so its a nice way to use them. I use a little disposable lunch box that has separate compartments and put treats, a printed copy of their labels and ingredients, and my business cards. I find that my clients really appreciate the gesture.

answered a question How do i bring in customers?

Hi Mark! Happy to help. I am by no means a Rover expert yet, as I am fairly new myself, but have had great success with my profile and am already booked/ have pending bookings through April.

Looking at your profile, the things that stand out to me that you can fix to enhance your client-attraction are as follows:

-Pictures: Think about possibly updating your profile pic, as your face is only in about half of it. Also, SMILE! (pet parents trust walkers or sitters more if they look friendly; not saying that your aren’t but it’s all about perception when you are selling yourself). Also, my suggestion would be to limit the amount of selfies you have without dogs and possibly upload more with dogs (again, smile :) )

-Get more testimonials: Ask friends and family to write a testimonial about you and your interactions with pets. Two is decent, but if you are struggling to get bookings, more can’t hurt.

-About Me/ What to expect when I watch Fido section: I would expand it just a tad if you can. Add more info about yourself, why you love animals, ect.. Half of rover sitters I have observed have a small profile as well, which isn’t terrible, but again, this will help you stand out. Will everyone potential client read it? Probably not, but at least your content is there. I know as a sitter, I spend a lot of time reading other sitter's profiles to either get ideas or see who else is in my area of operations. Also, this may be me, but I would fix the grammatical errors in your sections (and I know I have some in this response to you, but I am writing quick :D). The more grammatically correct your profile is, the more professional you look towards potential clients.

-Promotion: Self-promote in your area! I have found that going to local dog parks and engaging with dogs and their owners is the best way to get clients. Have business cards on hand at all times. When people see you interacting with dogs and showing them love, they will all flock to you to ask for a card. It is infectious, trust me. I have gathered over 20 potential clients that way alone in the last 2 weeks. Always carry dog treats on hand (ask for the owner’s permission before you give Fido a treat). Promote your profile link and promo on social media.

These are just a few observations I had when looking at your profile, but there may be more. Always look to update your profile (don’t ‘set it and forget it’). It is a living document and needs to change with the times. Again, I am not an expert, but I hope some of this helps you out. Good luck!
