Woah, there. Displaying dominance is just ONE of MANY reasons dogs hump. Others include stress, previous learned behaviors (they keep doing it because they've learned it feels good), medical problems, compulsive behavior, play or, quite simply, displaying normal sexual behavior.

I think the most common among "altered" dogs (especially puppies) is over excitement. "I'm having so much fun I could just... I don't know... hump something! And I'm a dog so I will and it's so totally normal".
