answered a question Why is my dog pooping in her crate?

My dog did this as well when I first got him; (he was 2 years old but had never been potty-trained). The problem for us was that the crate he was in was too big. He needed to be in a crate where he can stand up and turn around, but not much more than that. You issue may be a combination of things; (age of dog, size of crate, etc.)

Dogs are social creations and they crave being part of a "pack," be that a human or animal or combo pack. Your pup is being isolated, which in turn makes him feel like something is terribly wrong with the Universe. As such, he is expressing himself the only way he can to try to communicate with you his unhappiness. I would say that this pup needs to be where he will have socialization and interaction. If you are not able to provide this, (and it sounds like your parents are not going to help in any way), then it would be a kindness to admit that you are not able to provide a home for a dog at this stage in your life. No dog should be put outside all day and then crated the rest of the time. What a lonely existence! Please give him up, so that he can find a home with someone who will give him the life he deserves. If you keep him under the circumstances you have described, the problems will just get worse.
