commented question | Is it ok to buy a toy for the dog you're watching? I also don't send the pup home with it. I have a basket of visiting dog toys. |
commented question | Is it ok to buy a toy for the dog you're watching? I always keep some cheaper toys around the house. For example, on Black Friday there were great deals and I bought a pack of 10 toys for $5 or something crazy. I do this because it will keep the pup busy, and also from chewing through my dogs favorite toys. Just be sure to always supervise the pup |
commented question | How to I get my profile noticed by others? It stinks, but I started by lowering my prices. After the first couple customers rated me favorably, I found that I was getting more requests. I also have since gradually increased my prices. I also bought a law sign that I've had great success with. |
asked a question | Are people charging owners for daycare & overnight, or using overnight as one fee? When having a dog at a kennel typically there is a daycare rate, an overnight rate, and then a rate that encapsulates both. I feel like I am being somewhat taken advantage of when someone doesn't pick their dog up until 8p. I charge for the overnight, but not for the day, so basically they are getting a day of day care for free. Suggestions on how to handle this? Or ways to add an additional option that combines the 2? For example: Right now I'm charging $30 for an over night, times 3 nights is $90. However, if the dog arrives at 8 a on the first day, and leaves at 9p on the last day, I should really be charging for 4 days and 3 nights, $105. Overnights ( 4p one day - 10a next day) are $15 Daycare (10a-6pm) is $15 Overnight with daycare is $30 |
