asked a question | Owner needs to cancel last minute on day of stay - Will I be penalized for doing a sitter cancel? I had a boarding booked for today, but the owner messaged me this morning saying that their plans fell through and that they wanted to cancel the boarding. I am just starting out and they were a repeat client so this is not a really big deal to me, since they were the second person to book me when I had no reviews and I appreciate that. My cancellation policy is moderate, so they can not get a refund if they cancel it themselves since the stay is technically in progress. If I do a cancellation as a sitter, and select that the owner's plans changed and that they requested the cancellation themselves: Will the owner get the full refund? And, will my standing on Rover be affected negatively? Thanks! |

commented answer | New to Rover- First client without meet and greet for a few hours, should I invite in/walk? Thank you. They stayed in the car for drop off and pickup and I did end up walking him for a bit because he was so energetic! It went well. |
asked a question | New to Rover- First client without meet and greet for a few hours, should I invite in/walk? I accepted my first client (Technically second, but that is an extended stay that starts this weekend, we had a meet and greet yesterday that went well) that was a last minute daycare stay for same day, today. The dog is 9 years old and will be staying for about 5 hours while the owner goes out for dinner. Since it is the same day I did not ask for a meet and greet and neither did the owner. Am I expected to walk the dog during this stay even if it's short? Should I invite the owner in to look around as if it were a meet and greet or should I just take the dog at the door? Thank you. |
