And I did let the owner know but she is out of the country. I let Rover know as well. Please don't assume that I have not done these things just because I haven't posted about it :)

I am not here to argue, was just reaching out to see if anyone had experienced something similar and ask how they handled it! Just simply thought that the owner should have been honest about the dog. All I want is to ensure that the dog has a good experience. Have a great day :)

I am aware that all dogs are able to bite, but if the dog has a tendency to be aggressive then I should have been notified prior to the dog staying with me. If the dog hadn't acted this way in my home, who knows what he would have done if we were out on a walk and came across a man?

No she didn't! I even asked the previous sitter after the incident happened and she said it has happened before, so I'm not sure why this information was not shared with me. Thank you so much for your input!

And I am aware of how to take care of an old dog :) I am home with him 24/7, he sleeps in my bed with me, etc. Biting is not okay regardless of the dogs age, and it is the owners responsibility to be honest with a sitter when they ask these questions or else something can go extremely wrong.

The owner said that the dog is well behaved and she never has issues with him. What I did to discipline him was tell him no, put him on his leash, and remove him from the situation. I was not mean at all. I understand that dogs become anxious in a new situation, but biting is never acceptable.

I did ask these questions and nothing was mentioned. There were not any notes left in the dogs care profile. The owner even said she was going to board the dog with two men until she found out that they were going to be watching another dog at the same time.

asked a question Dog damaged furniture and tried to bite, help?

I am currently watching a dog in my home and it has been harder than I expected. Last night he tried to bite my brother and I, and also jumped up on my couch to pee on it.

I do not think that this dog likes men (not mentioned by the owner during the meet and greet or on the dogs profile) When trying to stop the dog from being aggressive towards my brother, he then snapped at me when I tried to discipline him.

While I am concerned about the biting and aggression, I am also worried that my couch is ruined. He is an old dog and I know that they have accidents, but he is a rather large dog and it covered a decent amount of the couch. I am aware that I can not force the owner to pay for the damage to the couch and I am aware that it is out of her control, but should I mention it to her? If so, how? I am going to have to either hire a cleaning service for the couch (which will cost more than I make making to watch this dog for the whole week) Should I also mention the biting?

asked a question Dog tried to bite and not as advertised, what to do?

Soo I am currently boarding a 12 year old dog. The owner came over a few weeks prior to the stay and we did a meet and greet for a solid 30 minutes or so. Since the dog has been dropped off, I have picked up on a few very significant details that the owner did not tell me - the dog is blind and the dog dislikes men.

The dog tried to bite my brother last night and has been growling and barking through the night when he hears noises but can not see where the noise is coming from. He does the same thing during the day.

Neither of these issues are mentioned in the dogs care profile and instructions. There is a list of things that the dog dislikes and a list of medical issues, but being blind and aggressive towards men are not mentioned. In my "what I would like to know about your dog section" I specifically ask to know these things. I asked the owner similar questions at the meet and greet and these issues were not mentioned once again. She even said that she was going to board her dog with two men before picking me, but decided against it because they had another dog that would be staying there.

I contacted the dogs previous sitter since she is the one who dropped the dog off to me. She said that she thinks the owner is in denial about the dog going blind and has not mentioned it to her either. But she was shocked that the owner did not mention the dog disliking men. She said that when she first interacted with the dog, that issue was strongly emphasized but it was not even mentioned to me whatsoever.

asked a question Any suggestions on a sleepless dog?

I am currently boarding a dog and I was told by his owners that he was potty trained and sleeps through the night. Here I am at 6:30am and the dog has yet to fall asleep once. Every time that I try to fall asleep or even sit down, he barks at me. I have tried moving his bed into my room, have him sleep on my bed, sleep on the couch next to him... I have played soothing music, the TV, played with/and pet him, taken him on long walks, NOTHING is working. On top of that, he has had 7 accidents in my house within the last 12 hours even though I have been taking him out every 30 minutes :( I assume that he is anxious and misses his owners, but I can go without sleep every night that I am watching him. Any suggestions?
