commented answer Sitter's use for Rover bucks???

I'm sorry, I should have clarified that you would get $20 credit if it's their first stay through Rover. This is the "Give $20, Get $20" program.

answered a question Sitter's use for Rover bucks???

Hi guys! From what I understand, when someone uses your own coupon code for you as a sitter, you are credited $20 in Rover bucks. I think they pretty much assume that we all have our own pets and would then use that money toward having another Rover sitter watch our pets. I would love to know if there are other good uses for that money as well.

When someone uses your own coupon code for another sitter, you get $10 in cash.

I haven't actually done either of these things yet, so this is just based on what I've read. Also, if you're trying to get the $50 referral fee, make sure the person uses the link in the e-mail to create their profile. If they don't, you will not get the credit even if the email address is the same, etc.

Hope this helps!

answered a question How do you decide if a date is a holiday rate date?

Hi Cindy! I agree with Cari and Deb! I will automatically adjust the rates when I get the original request and let them know that I've adjusted it. So, they might see that rate and contact me anyway, but I decide what I think is fair to charge. In a case like that, you might decide to do your extended rate for most of it and then the holiday rate for just a couple days. All the best to you! Hope that's helpful!

answered a question A dog destroyed my house. What does insurance cover? What has been your experience?

Hi Akeeba! It is definitely a tough situation to be in! I have had a couple of dogs now that have destroyed things because of separation anxiety. It's awkward to have the conversation, but in both cases, the pet parents paid to have my home repaired/the item replaced.

I would make sure to take pictures of everything. If it's still an active stay, let the parents know that the dog is having some issues. I usually wait until they come to pick up their dog to discuss the specifics and talk about reimbursement. But at least they are aware that there's an issue.

I hope this is helpful! All the best to you as you work it out!

Thank you for replying! What specific additional insurance have you gotten? I am a little confused about which one(s) I would want/need. Thanks again!

asked a question Does anyone have additional petsitting insurance?

Hello! I am new to Rover and wondering about insurance. I know that Rover has insurance for every stay that is booked on here, but if you read the details, they are very clear that it's secondary insurance and it really only covers a dog injury. I feel like that leaves a lot of things not covered. I know that my homeowner's insurance would cover some things, but in my quick research, saw there are other types of insurance you can get.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'd love to hear your experiences!

Also, has anyone had to use the http://rover.com insurance and how did that go?

Thanks so much for your help! Chandra
