At the meet & greet before the stay, I have a questionnaire that the owner and I go through and fill out so that I have a better knowledge of the guest.

I recently had a dog stay with me at my home for a week. The owner booked with me and then after I messaged him, he said he had not looked at the price before booking and that he had only ever paid $20 a night through Rover. His past sitter was busy and therefore could not sit for him. I said that I could be flexible with the price and we could work something out as I was available for that time.

During the M&G, the owner said the dog did or didn't do things that turned out to not be true. For example, she was crate trained, that she didn't have accidents in the house, or that she was good with cats & dogs, to name a few things. These are not true. She's a sweet little dog, however she has a lot of bad habits and it's not my responsibility to train/re-train the dog in addition to the numerous walks that I have to take her on as she does not have good potty habits. (peeing and/or pooping every night and not on the puppy pads) She's 3 years old.

Each walk I take her on is at least 15 minutes up to a half hour 4+ times a day, as she would rather wait to go in the house or doesn't know that walks mean potty time. She has lunged and tried to attack my cat on several occasions, which has resulted in a modified fenced off area to keep her safe and has lunged at other dogs.

My question and concern is:

How do sitters know if the owner is being honest about their dog if there isn't a way to review the owner that is available for other sitters to see?
