commented answer | Someone wanted to book a 6-day boarding in Sept now, should I be wary? Jennifer, technical questions- If you are not receiving payment from a client until a month out does this mean you aren't making a Rover booking request for those dates at all? Or is that request then archived? What do you do with the Rover booking request in mean time? |
asked a question | How do you schedule your daily drop-in/ walk times with clients? I'm getting more requests for dog drop-in/ or walks on an ongoing daily basis in the week. With multiple bookings in a day I kind of get stressed out when a client expects me to be at their house by an EXACT time. Example: I have one consistent dog client who wants me to be at her house by 12 noon every day, but I also have another client who wants me to be at their house to walk their dogs at 12 every day. So I've been telling my clients that I need at least an hour window of when would be a good time to come care for their dogs... This would mean I might see one dog around 11:30 and the next around 12:15. So this means for the clients who both want me to come exactly at 12 noon, they can expect me to start my visit anywhere between 11:30- 12:30. Does this seem fair? I explained this to one of my clients up front and they were fine with that, but it seems like if I get there anytime other than right at 12, they start asking me to come closer to 12pm....it feels as if they are saying I'm not on time. Am I wrong to think that a client should be okay with giving me a window of an hour between the time they want me there? How do you handle multiple drop-ins/walks a day? do you set exact times or do you allow for a window of time when you schedule with a client? |

commented answer | How do I post my services on "NextDoor"? I am logged into my Nextdoor account. However I am new to it and I don't know how or where to post in Nextdoor. For some reason the link is still not working. Thanks for your reply! |
asked a question | How do I post my services on "NextDoor"? When trying to share my profile under the share button it gives the option to post on "NextDoor". When I click on the link it says page not found. Does anyone know how to promote your business on the NextDoor platform manually? I know this is kind of a step outside of Rover, but the Rover link is not working for me. Please help if you know how. Thank you! |

commented answer | How do you decline a client after meet and greet? Thank you! This was very helpful in giving me direction of how to approach this conversation. |
asked a question | How do you decline a client after meet and greet? I just had a meet and greet with a client. She has two dogs, one of them is very nervous. She growled at me briefly a few times through the visit. but the owner says thats just how the dog is and eventually warms up to you. The dog did warm up to me by coming close enough to me to eat a treat out of my hand but then would get really stiff or run away when I would go to pet her. The dog looks like she could lose it at any moment. The dog just seems on edge and I'm afraid that once the owner leaves I'm going to be stuck with a fearful/ nervous and potentially aggressive dog. I want to decline based on just the feeling I get, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I left the meet and greet indicating that I would be in touch with them about getting together again to have our dogs meet up (since she insisted to bring my dog over to play with their dogs when I stay there... I obviously wouldn't want to do this). Please someone help me by telling me how do you turn down clients after meet and greets when there really isn't anything wrong other than just not being comfortable with their dog... that seems so harsh, and I don't know how to put it. Thanks! |

commented answer | What to make the cat rates? Do you have the owner make a cat profile when they are asking you to just feed their cat and clean the litter box during your home sitting with their dog? or do you just adjust the pricing when they book just their dog for a home sitting? |

asked a question | Is it possible to adjust pricing after service is rendered for house sitting? I'm wondering if after booking with a client for a house-sit and agreeing on a price depending on time frame that was given pre-book, can you change or adjust the amount for services rendered after booking? Like for example should they come back later than agreed upon. I hope this makes sense.. I guess what I'm really asking is if there is a way to add or adjust the price for your visit AFTER the services have been provided and booked? And would this be reasonable to do if your client comes back late or asks you to stay longer than anticipated? |
asked a question | What supplies do you have or bring with you? Hi I'm new and wondering if there are any must have supplies or things you like to have with you /bring when you visit a client? I'm thinking about things like a doggie first aid kit, your own doggie treats, portable water bowl, and/or anything else that you know of that should be a must have /or would just make your time with your client better/easier for you or them. So far the only services I'm offering are dog walks, drop-in visits, and home stays. I just want to make sure I'm prepared. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! |

asked a question | When do you start and stop your Rover cards for walks? I just had my first rover walk today and I wasn't sure if I should start my Rover card when I arrive to the house or just when I am actively walking? I decided to start and stop the rover card only when I was in an active walk to show I walked him for a full 30 minutes. However I did spend about 15 minutes total on top of that walk time just getting the dog ready for his walk, having a few treats, water, cuddles, and then putting him back in his kennel. So I sent a rover card that showed 30 minutes of walk time but I was technically there caring for the dog for about 45 minutes. When should I have started and stopped the Rover card that I sent the client? |
