| asked a question | How much would you charge for dog park visits? I was asked to help a family's little brother who is going to take care of 2 black labs, but who can't take them to the dog park or walk them both at the same time. It will be during Christmas, from December 22nd-29th. I will have family in town for some of those days, and of course I'll have to take time on Christmas to go walk them as well. This family doesn't live far from me, but the dog park is about a 15 minute drive. I normally charge $10/walk or drop-in visit, but I think taking them to the dog park should maybe be a little more? What are your thoughts? Thanks! |
| answered a question | Should a Sitter request that Owners provide their own dog food during the rover stay? You shouldn't have to ask for them to provide food! They will supply it for your convenience and for their dog's health. I always ask the brand and kind in case I run out during the stay. That shouldn't happen if they have measured it out for you before! The best thing they can do is measure out individual bags of food for each meal! That isn't necessary though! |

As you said I would never disrespect their property, but I feel much more comfortable knowing. You can even see it as a good thing, because they will see what a great job you are doing taking care of their home and pets! |

| commented question | Do you let guest dogs sleep with you? I dog sit in their own home, so if they usually allow their pets on their bed then I do as well! One of the reason I love dog sitting so much is because I don't have my own dog with me at college, so I will take any chance I get to cuddle with a dog. |

When we adopted a new dog and had to introduce him to our other 2 dogs we did somewhere none of them would feel threatened. We introduced them one at a time and kept them both on leashes. You let them sniff each other for 2-3 seconds at a time, pull them back, praise them, and repeat w/ all of them! |
