Agree with answers above but will add that the reason the drop ins are priced per drop in is due to the travel back and forth vs housesitting where you likely will just be at the house and won't have all the back and forth travel of a drop in.

The vast majority of owners have provided them, however I do have my own. It's a cost of doing business and I save my receipts and take it as a business deduction on my taxes!

asked a question Charging client when she is accommodating my schedule?

I booked a dog boarding stay and am unavailable until 12pm the day of the booking for drop off. During the meet and greet the client said she would get back to me with the drop off time. I reached out and let her know that I was available for drop off after 12pm, however the client's flight is at 12:30pm so that wouldn't work. Client said she can drop off the night before. I agreed to this, however it's not reflected in the booking so am unsure of how to proceed-- should I not charge her because she's being flexible to accommodate my schedule or should I go ahead and charge her for the previous night?

Yes early on I have had an owner try to drop off a dog that 1) didn't get along with other dogs (I host up to 3 dogs at a time ) and 2) not get along with kids (I have a toddler!). I have learned to bring up any deal breakers right away in the first contact so that neither of our time is wasted. Some owners aren't used to the app and don't read the profile.

I offer a discount of $3 off my regular rates for stays over 11 days. I have had requests ask for monthly rates lol. I'm usually always fully booked every day, and most of my competitors do not offer any extended stay discounts so I don't feel the need to offer rock bottom pricing for the quality of service I provide.

This is also something I'm wondering about as well. I've had quite a few clients ask to book but require that their dog be my only booking. I just generally decline due to fit, but I like some of the previous suggestions.

Yes I ask clients for review. I thank them for choosing me to take care of their loved one and ask that they provide a review. About half the clients respond and do it- some people don't like to leave reviews or some are very busy and that just falls to the bottom of their list of things they need to do.
