answered a question Booking score down to 50 percent after flakey requests?

I often have people message me with a request and I will respond rather quickly and then never hear from them again. I just archive the request and move on. It is inconsiderate, but I figure they probably are messaging quite a few sitters and if the fees are less for another they will go with them. happy doggy sitting!

commented question Meet and Greet location?

When I started years ago I met people at a local park. Now I do all meetings in my home and have never had a problem. I would suggest having a friend or the like at home with you for the first few meetings if you are uncomfortable. A lot can depend on the area, neighborhood, etc.

commented question Do you charge the same for a stay of 5 nights versus a stay for 30 days?

I think this depends on how long you have been building your business. I no longer offer any kind of discount, but initially I did.

commented question Meet and Greet - Would you book it?

I have had this happen, taken the dog to board and it was a disaster. The person I met with said the dog gets very excited initially so they did not bring the dog. The dog ended up be quite hyper with separation anxiety. I always insist that I meet the dog before boarding.

commented question Bull Dog constantly whines and cries almost hyperventilating. Help?

Molly, I would try getting him outside this evening for fresh air and exercise. Does he sleep in a crate? I have had people tell me their dogs are used to a crate when they really are not. I'd try bringing his bed, toys, etc into your room and putting them by your bed.

commented question Adult Dog pees everywhere 15+ times in one day right in front of me??

Lauren, if you have a crate I would try to crate the dog, or if you have gates keep it in a small area of your house that is not carpeted.
