answered a question Why is Rover requiring the app for Doggy Day Care in sitter's home?

I just spoke to Rover and they say there is an exception to Rover cards in my area - so I'd call and ask. I also went through this with them in April/May or whenever DogVacay merged with Rover. I was told I do not have to use the app/Rover cards. Now they are saying there is an exception unless the owner specifically requests and Rover Cards.

Isn't there a character count limit thought on how much you send? I sent an update yesterday with 19 pictures included along with stories about each pic. You can't do that in the app that I'm aware of.

answered a question Is it okay to use a muzzle on a client's dog?

I certainly would not muzzle the dog - but can you simply keep the dog in a separate area of your house? If needed, for the safety of all, in a separate room with door shut? In a furnished basement area, etc.? I use baby gates but if worse comes to worse, I think the owner would understand separating the dogs with keeping a door shut for the safety of all. Make sure the dog would have plenty to keep itself occupied - stuffed kongs, toys, going on walks, etc.

I would probably not try to "force" them to get along if that makes sense. The dog might just be nervous and getting worked up. The dog may be experiencing anxiety now that the owner is gone as well.

answered a question Is my dog marking his territory?

It could be a number of things. Marking territory? Perhaps. Simply peeing due to still being able to smell it is another possibility. It could also be caused by general anxiety when passing through that area. I'd make sure to get an enzymatic cleaner like Nature's Miracle or a water/vinegar mix. Regular soap and cleaner does not cut through the smell - dogs will still smell it and continue to go in the same spot.
