commented question | Dog sitter availability not up to date? I try to keep up my calendar. That's easier said than done. But even when it's been up to date, I've had many owners contact me for dates I marked unavailable. I'm sorry you've had difficulty finding available sitters. But thanks for taking note of the calendars! That encourages me to keep trying! |
commented question | Do dog sitters review pet owners? Where can I see that? After every stay, I get an email from Rover asking me to review my stay. However, it says that nobody will be able to see it but me. Supposedly it's like a record to keep track of who's who and remember details about each dog and client. I've never tried it. |

commented answer | What to do when you find cameras in a clients house? Thanks! I contacted the owner and explained I wasn't comfortable with it while I slept and asked if I could turn or cover it. They said I could cover it. 😄 Still don't think I'll be back. That couch is not at all comfortable. But thankfully they were reasonable! |
answered a question | What to do when you find cameras in a clients house? I'm having this issue right now. I didn't anticipate cameras prior to the stay. And I'm ok with them typically. Usually they are disclosed ahead of time and people are pretty nice about ensuring that I have some areas of privacy. But I'm expected to sleep on their couch and the camera is facing right towards the couch. I am NOT ok with being watched while I sleep. I don't need people hearing me when I talk in my sleep or seeing me drool on my pillow. And I'm definitely not comfortable with the fact that they could even take that footage and put it on the internet. I don't know them any more than they know me. How am I supposed to know if they'd do something like that? They just left town this morning and I'm supposed to spend 3 nights. |
commented answer | Where Do You Sleep? That's what I do. Learn from each experience what I do or don't feel comfortable with, and use that knowledge to determine whether future jobs are right for me. And depending on the issue, I'll modify my profile accordingly. Once I was asked to use shock collars. Never again! |
answered a question | What do you use in place of free grocery plastic bags to pick up dog poo? Home Goods, Daiso, or a dollar store. I've also heard that some times grocery stores will have left overs of rolls of bags from produce and you can ask for them from a manager. |
